I spoke with a representative from Tire Rack last week who said they were currently testing the 2018 STI's, that he'd seen a line of them outside testing. He told me he thought they'd have a handle on fitment in the next couple of weeks. They're usually pretty on the ball so I figure we will know definitively soon.

Hoping 18x8 fits, there are some inexpensive wheels at that price point, the 8.5" wheels are much more expensive. Would love to get some 235 winter tires on 8' wheels this winter.

Default Wheel fitment for 2018 STi

Finally got around to mounting one of my winter wheels. I have been trying to recover from pneumonia so sorry it took so long. They fit great with even more room between the caliper and spokes then the stock wheels. They are wayyyy lighter as well. I almost want to make them my summer wheels as they are better wheels being forged and much lighter.
Yes I know my calipers are dirty but it rained the last few days so I have not got around to washing it yet.

Nice! When you have more time can you take pics of the whole car from a few angles? I would like to see how those wheels look on the 18 STi, especially in WRB.

I got them for 850 not sure if it was that good of a deal but he was asking 1k. One has a chip and a smaller scratch here or there but much better then another set that was 500 with major chips and curbing.

Might be winter till I get them all mounted and on the ground. I still have to order the winter tires and I might coat them with some plastidip as well to help protect them from the salt.

I wanna get 19s for winter wheels. I feel like 18s with 245-40-18s will leave too big of a gap. I was thinking maybe buying all seasons for the stock 19s and putting the stock tires on aftermarket 19s. What says you guys? The wheels I want, Wedsports, don't come in 19s so.. I won't drive the car when there's snow on the ground. I'll drive my work truck. That said will 35 series all season radials suck?

Default Wheel fitment for 2018 STi

Too big of a gap? You know they are the same outer diameter as the 19" tires. There may be .03% difference. Check using a tire calculator.

With a winter setup you want a smaller wheel with a bigger sidewall. 17s are king, 19s would be a terrible choice.

Thanks for the advice! I'll google that. I saw a 2016 STi with 2 something 40 18s before coilovers. I didn't like the look. Maybe I'm getting mixed up because the car looks so good after the coilovers.

I thought 17s don't fit on our cars due to the brakes? Why 19s a poor choice? I don't plan on driving when snow's on the roads.

Not great news but still waiting to hear what Tire Rack comes up with. I got the following email from Fastwrx after I inquired:
Hi,

We have not tested any 8" wheels that fit. The narrowest we have found to fit is 8.5".

These fit:

https://www.fastwrx.com/products/rota-dpt-18x8-5-44-5x100-5x114

Note that width and offset alone DO NOT guarantee fitment. The spoke design has to provide enough space to clear the brakes.

If you don't plan on driving when there is snow on the ground, you could get 19" snow or all-season tires (but they are expensive). You cannot drive on the stock summer tires once the temperature goes below 50 degrees (40 is the real limit). Even when it is dry, that level of cold isn't enough to soften your tires and you will lose grip. It's dangerous.

If you plan, or could get caught, in snow, you want the smallest/narrowest rims/snow tires possible in order to cut through deep snow. The wider the set-up, the more likely you are to plow through the snow, which requires more energy. It is easier to cut than to push.

17's probably won't fit due to the calipers, but then again, it depends on many factors. 18's will fit, but we don't know how narrow we can go. Hopefully 8".

Thats what I was trying to tell people who never actually tried to fit different wheels on the 18 but said they would fit because of some article they read.

This is definitely already answered somewhere but does anyone know what the wheel dimensions and offset is for the 2018 STi? I know its a 19" wheel but what is the width and offset?

Thank you.

Also, any idea wheel brand?

TR is showing packages, but I don't know if I trust them...

Alt: 235/45-17 -1.7% difference
Alt: 215/50-17 -1.7% difference
***225/50-17 is the best but not listed for package, 0.4% difference.
17x7 +42mm
17x7.5 +40-45mm
17x8 +45mm

Alt: 245/40-18 -0.1% difference
Alt: 225/45-18 +0.9% difference
18x8 +45mm
18x8.5 +50mm

TR has removed the packages. I was told the information was erroneous. No ETA yet.

It would be awesome if they had 17" steels that actually fit but I find it really hard to believe this is accurate.

I just called TR and they confirmed that the packages they list are tested by their engineers. I'd really like to get confirmation from elsewhere before I jump on ordering it.

+1 I got the same response from the Chat function. That being said, look at Page 1 of this thread, those Sparcos are 17's and are also listed by TR as fitting, yet it looks to hit the weights...

The weights aren't part of the wheel. TR is correct in saying the wheel fits. Put the weights where they won't hit the caliper.

Anyone have any idea if WRX Limited wheels (18x8.5) would clear? Found a really good deal on a set but I don't know if the spokes on them would clear or now.

This guy can't get the 2018 WRX rims over the MY09 STI Brembos. https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2852877
