Post Wish List

I was at work and decided to put together a wish list, or future mods. This is what I would like to do with my car. But, it may be a while. Take a look at this

Turbo 7200
Cylinder Heads 2195
Closed Deck 949
Turbo Pistons 749
Connecting Rods 799
BPM Stage 2 Gears 3499
Rear Diff 1475
Front Diff 1050
Center 1360
Clutch 450
Suspension 1500
STI Brakes 900

22126

This doesn't include installation. It just may take me awhile.

All Cobb Tuning, except turbo, I like the twin turbo setup from AMR. That's until I hear otherwise. Just thinking outloud. Or, at the computer.

Is that turbo the twin-turbo setup? If so, you did realize that you get less power out of a twin-turbo setup then a single one, right? The twins supposedly kick in a little faster, but provide less top end power.

Closed deck is only good for cars running 20+psi, other then that the open deck is fine.

I'd personally go with the stage 1 gearset unless you plan on pushing 400+ hp (16-18psi at least, I think).

The front diff. is pretty much useless, all it does is induce understeer. The rear is good, though you should go with a Quaife setup rather then a Kaaz - Quaife is much better quality and doesn't require as much maintenence.

Clutch should be closer to $370 for an ACT unit.

I think you can do suspension for less, but it depends on what you want to do.

An impressive list, I must say. I'm working it all out myself, but it'll be a while before I get it all done too.

Alternate opinion on the diff:

Quaife is a nice diff, but it is loud, and has a tendency to induce snap oversteer on rwd cars, and terminal understreet on front wheel drive. i say this from experience. drove an RX-7 with a quaife in the rear, nice launches, and it held the power, but when power on through the corner it seems to hit a spot where the diff essentially locks 50 50, and the car just spins. also it was almost impossible to tell when it would snap, very hard to controle. Front wheel drive we had one on a civic, would plow like a mother even slightly power on. it definatly handelked better with the standard open front. now i'm not saying the kaaz is any better cause i don't know, i will soon, and i will let you guys know, i'm hoping it is.

p.s. argee with everything else.

jon 98 rs turbo

I'm getting the feeling that a new WRX may be in your future instead.

$22K on top of a $20k car doesn't make too much sense to me. Why not just get the new WRX?

I've spent $3k on a used CRX and spent $10k+ on parts myself. I still can't figure that one out either.

This was more so of a thinking at the computer, it's a 'if I had the money, I'd like to make a silly car'

More than likely, its just going to be a stronger clutch, *insert turbo setup here*, suspension, and maybe some internals. That's once I get used to driving the car.
