You can't call wrong on a conjecture. I didn't state a fact, merely an opinion.

I call wrong since I have heard from a high regional exec that the new one will be a year from January. The only thing I don't know is will it be when we SEE it, or it goes on sale. I think it'll be when the first ones go on sale, yet January is when Detroit is and it is well known that is when they typically show USDM STI. So, that may be when we first see it(officially) and it goes on sale a couple months later. It will NOT be sold next year and it is HIGHLY LIKELY it'll be a 2015MY, not 2014. |

I.E. no one knows for sure what they're talking about so not sure why you decided to peg me as "wrong" instantly. |

Look back at all his comments. Even he is starting to believe 15MY. High horse? I am just trying to get it through many thick skulls that Subaru has never had a year with three launches; and with the Forester and Hybrid out in 13CY as 14MY, there is no room for the next WRX/STI. Looks like they will have 2 for each of the next few years, including this one. |

Good news this past Friday.
Ordered from Bel Air Subaru in Maryland (about 30 mins north of Baltimore) WRX 5-door Limited w/ Nav. Order placed 9/15 VON received 11/1 VIN received (never asked) ETA 12/14!!! Only three more weeks. My sales person was great, he hadn't done a factory order before but I wasn't too worried as the process seemed pretty straight forward. I was originally given a 6-8 week estimate which seemed legit at the time based on the forums. I think on November 1st he called me and said that it looked like it would be another 6-8 weeks and was sorry about that. I asked for the VON then and he got it for me. Other than that he's only called to let me know when he had an update. Good luck to everyone waiting. Hope you all get your cars soon! I'll update with final price and pics when I finally take delivery. Scott |

You can read all day long on paper, 0-60 in about 5 seconds, but it's a lot different doing it for real.
When I cleared 1,000 miles, and kicked mine in the butt for the first time, it almost scared me. I've never driven a turbo car before. The way the power came on harder, and harder, as the rpm climbed blew me away. I love my car. |

You're sitting there relying on gut feeling and logic just as much as I am. Both of us have no real knowledge of when the new chassis will be revealed or released, so again, why are you sitting there acting like your opinion is better than everyone elses?

I have reliable sources and they haven't been wrong yet. Also, the fact that an executive said it plain as day in front of our entire sales staff about the new WRX/STI coming a year from January(2013CY which means 2014CY when it comes). That is why I don't feel bad repeating it. He just blurted it out as if it was common knowledge. Everyone elses opinion about it being out sooner is based off magazine articles that have been known to be wrong with no actual quotes from ANY Subaru rep/exec. I am going off 1.What I have been told by reliable sources & 2.Known Subaru tendencies. Which I trust more than magazine conjectures(that have been known to be wrong). |

I just got an email back from my dealer and he has no freaken clue when my STi will get here now. He did mention he could get a hold of one of the orange WRXs...to bad Subaru isn't making a 5-door version or I would be all over it.
Ordered WRB STi w/ Nav and Auto dim mirror on 9/15 VON: same day VIN: nope ETA: only god knows -#s |

They only turn on their location AIS system or SINS system when they are near ports, or near narrow waterways and need to broadcast their location to nearby ships.
SOME ships leave it on all the time, but that isn't because they want to, it's because all the navigation systems are integrated and this feature cannot be disabled. On older ships (like the ones we are seeing used by subaru) they installed these systems LATER to be compliant with international maritime law. However, because they are modular components they can be turned on or off at will. |
