Default Subaru impreza CEL thread

I have a 1998 impreza outback sport wagon....90,000 miles. Last week the CEL came on. I went to Autozone...it came up P0325...."Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction"!!! I noticed that I am getting engine hesitation in lower gears. Any suggestions? How much will the Subaru dealer charge to fix? Is their a cheaper alternative?

Independent garages are usually cheaper than dealers; best bet is just to phone around.

Cheaper alternative? Mail-order the knock sensor and install yourself. Really easy! It's right on top of the engine!

Flat rate time is .7 hours. Dealers may sell for more or less.

Not sure of part price.
