![]() I feel like there needs to be a thread on thew new VB chassis and a place where owners can talk about. So I hope some people can see what others are getting for their new WRX. I'm grabbing mine this weekend and figured I would post a few popular mods.
Aerflow painted flares https://www.aeroflowdynamics.com/col...022-subaru-wrx FYI, they are coming out with their own flares soon so you don't have to ship yours out (actually awesome) https://www.aeroflowdynamics.com/col...x-sv-front-lip Q300 https://www.subispeed.com/part/hs22w...t-back-exhaust Turbosmart BPV https://www.subispeed.com/part/ts-02...baru-wrx-fa24f Cobb AP https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/...3-wrx-6mt-2022 Cobb TMIC https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/...ilver-wrx-2022 ETX exhaust suite https://www.extremeturbosystems.com/...22-wrx-exhaust ETS Intake https://www.extremeturbosystems.com/...rx-2022-intake Remark Sports Touring catback https://www.maperformance.com/produc...40266627907654 OEM Window visors https://subimods.com/products/subaru...ctors-2022-wrx Fortune Auto coils https://subimods.com/collections/202...r-kit-2022-wrx Mishimoto Tow hook plate https://www.mishimoto.com/license-pl...-wrx-2022.html

![]() Cool. This forum seems to be rather lacking in '22+ WRX posts.
I really like some of the OEM stuff Subaru has, even if it's a bit pricey. At least with the Subaru aero stuff, you know it's been wind-tunnel tested. Lot's of stories of the aftermarket wings making whistling noises and vibrating. Cheap junk. The lighted door sills are nice. |

![]() It seems like the color change wraps for the exterior and interior trim wras haven't been a thing here since 2014. I was hoping to find some aftermarket wood grain vinyl wraps (Di-Noc, Belbien, etc...) but no dice.

![]() EDIT: After some back and forth picking Wicked Matt's brain, I'm scheduled to get a decent pile of goodies installed on my car in the first week of May and then have it Pro-Tuned! Updated list below. Switched to an ETS cat-back, added the charge pipe, and deleted the diverter valve.
I have similar plans for mine that I'll be starting shortly: ETS downpipe ETS intake ETS charge pipe ETS resonated, muffled cat-back exhaust Cobb TMIC Cobb AP On the fence about wheel/tire upgrade as well. Once the ProTune is done, I think I'm going to want more rubber on the road, but on the fence about going with the popular 18x9.5 wheels with 265/35-18 tires setup or bucking the trend and going with 17" wheels. I'm coming off 10 years of Miata ownership, and NC generation Miata wheels have the same bolt circle/offset as the VB WRX. I can get a nice set of Konig Hypergram 17x10 et43 wheels that weigh about 18 lbs and should have enough clearance to run 275/40-17 tires (was thinking Conti ECS 2). And they're cheaper than most of the 18x9.5 options that look good. Last edited by Chuck H; 04-19-2023 at 02:55 PM. |

![]() Does anyone know of any bolt-in harness bars available for the VB? I've only been able to find universal, and I'm not keen on cutting the B-pillar plastics.

![]() Just figured I'd bump this to give my initial impressions of the batch of parts I had installed a couple of weeks ago and the Pro Tune I had done.
Cobb Top Mount Intercooler -- looks fantastic, fitment is perfect. Haven't done any extended highway pulls at full boost to see how much better than stock it is, but it worked great during dyno tuning. ETS Intake -- Seems to give the motor plenty of air. Looks great. Not sure whether folks would consider this a plus or a minus, but it completely changes the sound of the stock recirculating valve. I never heard mine with the stock intake, but it's quite loud in the cabin now. ETS charge pipe -- nice fitment and seems to work great. ETS J-pipe -- upside is it's very free flowing and lets the engine make insane power. Downside is that I have a cat efficiency CEL now to try to figure out how to eliminate when just disabling it with the AccessPort isn't an option any more. Getting ready to try one of the mini-cat O2 sensor extensions. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what plan B is yet. ETS cat-back -- I picked the one that splits into 3" rear sections because it looked like it had the biggest rear mufflers. I probably should have picked the one that's 2.5" after the split or gone with a different brand with bigger mufflers. It sounds pretty good on the highway once it's warmed up and at higher RPM. But it's insanely loud on cold start start and between 1500 and 2000 seems to be its drone zone. I like how it sounds when you're driving it like you stole it, but would like something a little more understated for when I'm just cruising around town. Thinking of possibly switching to an Invidia Q300 or Borla. If Borla, I'd probably have a resonator welded into the midpipe in addition. I was actually considering the LP Aventure one that I recently saw on a couple of different vendor sites: https://www.importimageracing.com/pr...22-cb-wrx-sd3r. It seems to have a big enough midpipe resonator to actually quiet it down a little. But then I saw that it's also 3" after the split. I still don't get why the fabricators do that, other than the Y being cheap to make. Dual 3" pipes is way too big for exhaust velocity and is a lot louder for no performance gain. Pro-Tune -- these cars can make insane power, even without ethanol. Mine is 360 hp and 380 ft-lb at the wheels now on 93 octane! ![]() Last edited by Chuck H; 05-15-2023 at 01:49 PM. |

![]() Has anyone found any other postings/forums or groups that talk strictly about the VB? I've watched a ton of youtube videos, have gone to the dealer and looked the car over a million times. Missing all the threads on owners reviewing the car, one year impressions, problems, etc. Really impressed with the power its putting down, i know i'll love that, interior is what you would expect from Subaru, the exterior is mostly good-the fenders have grown on me.
Its in the class of its own for affordable performance car which remains practical, besides a few FWD models which don't personally do it for me at my age. |

![]() I've had mine for about a year now and did the normal intake/exhaust/tune mods a couple of months ago. PM if you have any specific questions or want long rambling thoughts on anything.
