Mmmmm.... Yeah without the bulged hood the design just falls completely flat for me.

I figured out why I dislike the bulged hood. Despite the wider front fenders, even in person the car looks kinda tall and narrow in the front. The bulged hood exacerbates that.

Was surprised that one of the dealers up here had two Morizos in the showroom this weekend (Michaels Toyota); one was used with ~140 miles on it and the other was still new. I think the latter had a sticker of $84k? Apparently they're looking to get two more Morizos and want to be the place to get them in the NW.

First non-Cores I've seen in person. Pretty cool...though I don't think I could get over the idea of a four door two-seater? I guess it wasn't worth it to weld the rear doors shut or something (sounds like they added welding to everything else)? But then I'd just be back to wishing we got the actual Yaris 2-door version.

They're not still trying to release this thing in an auto, are they? Probably won't be able to get the same power figures if you went for a tune.

Ooof, S209 blew up and they didn't like the GR at all. Crazy that the GR basically got the last place. Rear diff overheated, engine got heat soaked and none of drivers really liked it, yikes...

I can tell you didn't watch the video because you're you, but the diff neither overheated and no one say they didn't like it...

The amount of copium you're breathing in from a tank to deal with your dying (pun intended, given that their best engine ever blew up) platform makes me lol every time

Did you watch a different video? The rear diff on the GR did overheat and it was last place in their rankings

Whatever makes you feel better to justify your purchase. It still doesn't change the fact that the GR was a disappointment in this comparison. Watch the video if you have some time. They talk about it around the 37 minute mark...

And yes, it is a sad joke that the S209 blew up. Nobody here is going to defend that. It is unacceptable for the amount of money those cars go for and the fact that they were built for the track...

Time stamp 38:15, the GR Corolla did in fact overheat the diff.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these cars, although I'd have a hard time paying near six figs for a used S209 regardless of how good it is. I hope SG are throwing the owner of the S209 some $$$$ for popping the engine, that won't be a cheap fix and probably hurts the collectability of it in the future.

Nah, its just a Type-RA block which you can get new. The owner clearly drives the piss out of it, good for him. Hopefully the turbo didn't go too cause those are like $5k.

re: the S209 - Subaru gonna Subaru.

Back to the GR - I reached out to a local dealer about a Circuit advertised at MSRP. That car was spoken for (surprise, surprise), but they offered to take a deposit for a car that would be delivered in 9-12 months at MSRP+10K for a Core or MSRP+20K for a Circuit. I politely declined.

Dealers suck.

On the bright side, now you can follow the fanboyz suggestions and get yourself a subaru and go through a few engines by the time you get your GRC!

Jokes aside, definitely don't pay over MSRP. Fuk these greedy assh0les. And don't politely decline either, tell them to get fukked.
