![]() That's absolutely true - just offering it up as a possible addition, and something for people to consider before choosing an engine setup.

![]() I'll probably cover all the reciprocating dynamics. I've already started reworking the curves (since losing my jumpdrive) for instantaneous velocities, acceleration, displacement and piston loading. So I should have them up again in the coming week.
I plan to do two sets. One for EJ257 (as the standard in the US), EJ20 and then my +4mm long rod. The second will be an EJ257, EJ257 (+2mm rod) and 83mm stroker...the short rod ratio group. |

![]() Here's one added to the group..
Here is a stock 2.5L EJ255/EJ257 B25 combustion chamber to a 97mm bore. ![]() |

![]() ^^^what about it?
Notice he posted the 2.35 stroker for EJ22 (for EJ20 as well)...you are essentially the same thing as the EJ22 but with the smaller bore and 2.12L instead. Last edited by Homemade WRX; 04-18-2011 at 01:52 PM. |

![]() This seems like the place to ask my question.
If you're using long rods in a EJ25 with a 79mm crank, do you change the location of the wristpin or ?? So the piston wont sit above the deck. |

So what would it look like with the 99.5mm bore, or even 100mm bore. It seems it's pretty flush with the 97mm bore, so would you have a lip there like on a 2.5L block/2.0L head hyvrid, but just smaller? I know it's a bad thing on the hybrids, and just assumed the 2.5 chamber to the 2.5 block would be flush like it looks on the 2.2 bore/2.5 chamber in that pic. Thanks for all your hard work on this epic thread! |

![]() ^^^yup, the put a radius all around the chamber. IIRC is about 98.5 or 99mm from the edge of the radii. so roughly a 1mm radius on the rounded edge.

How about a 65.8mm crank with +6mm rods on a 2.0L bore NA build with ported heads and long duration cams? Maybe 14,000rpms? quote] has this been attempted? i wonder what it'd sound like ![]() |

![]() It's been discussed before. Financially it's pointless
![]() I had commented about it in a thread somewhere on here. I'd had a customer (from when I had a vendor account) in a spec 2.0L class asking me about it I began to show him all the parts that would need to be custom. It's not worth the mountains of cash, even in a spec class. |

![]() yes, you would have to shorten the compression height

![]() Gotcha, what i was thinking but wanted to confirm.
i was thinking you move the wristpin or change the compression height.. (which are both the same thing lol) |

![]() I'm going to get the STi head CC'd and also the modded EJ205 head CC'd (the one that I ported out to match the EJ257. I've heard from 56cc to 58cc on the EJ257 chambers so.... I just chose 57cc. .... lol we'll find out.

![]() So is it going to be bad to match the 97mm bore with the b25 heads? Is it gonna be that bad that the head's end is just 1.5-2 mm bigger?
