![]() It will be interesting to see what my driving will be like this season, since we haven't had a true warm day yet this year I have nothing to compare it to from last summer.
I also don't really drive my car that hard on a day to day right now. Maybe it's because I'm growing up ![]()

![]() Does anyone know how well these mods will do with passing smog inspections? Will the ecu check from the smog station see the changed codes that the tuner put in? I dont think they are so obvious that they would fail the visual inspection. Any opinions on that?

![]() In my state (NJ), inspection is once every 5 years and it's become a joke. They do a gas cap test and if your car isn't throwing any generic codes, you pass. If you're unlucky they'll do a visual inspection too.

![]() Same thing im doing in two weeks. Also came from a stage 2 08 spec b tuned by mikey haha. After speaking with him, makes sense to go with TGV/EGR deletes vs a j pipe - similar gains but big price difference and time for install! Wasnt expecting this coming from an 08 spec b and an '11 STI where downpipe is essentially the first mod that comes to mind as being worthwhile.
Im on the fence on whether or not to add an EBCS. Can you post a video of the sound? $300 for an intake for noise that id probably get sick of shortly after install is crazy. $150 on an EBCS for something a little more subtle might be worthwhile, while keeping boost more consistent. |

![]() Also, talking with Ian from MAP, I asked if it might be beneficial for them protuning my car, for me to have an EBCS. Interestingly, he said from the testing they've done, the MAP tuner has been able to produce results equal to or better than an aftermarket EBCS using just the stock setup. I dunno what kind of wizardry they're doing down there, but I'm excited to see what they eventually do to my car. |

![]() I made a little vlog about my car today. It's nothing new from what I've said here but you can see other things about my car done too. I'll make more in the coming months of the development of the car, meets and other things going on in the car community!

Following using their stage 2 for a while I will have to source out a solid etuner, probably gonna choose TP to tune my additional parts, TGV, EGR and PRL charge pipe and the ebcs. |

![]() I would still get a custom tune to your car. The MAPerformance package looks like a great deal and all, but from a lot of things I've gathered with this engine is every one of them needs their own custom tune to your mods, driving style etc. On the EJ motor you could throw another persons map on and it would run just fine but these cars all seem to need a custom tune per vehicle. Either way I think the EBCS is a cheap enough upgrade that doing it is a no brainer and it keeps your low end torque in check and your boost consistent

![]() Right, I'll be getting it protuned by MAPerformance once everything is on, and I'll throw on the TGVDs and EGRD right before I bring it to them, and maybe a nice clean oil change the week before wouldn't be a bad idea.
I plan on using their stage 2 just in the meantime, after I install the downpipe (so I'll just have my intake and DP on the car). I won't be turning the key on the car without a specific tune for both of the deletes ![]() |

![]() A fresh oil change before you get on the dyno is a good idea, if you're within 1000 miles since your last one you'll be good, if not change it. My tuning session at EFI was 2 hours long and Mikey did over 30 pulls so I'm glad I did a bunch of my own prep work the day before.

![]() Indeed. A fresh oil change, coupled with Perrin and Torque Solutions motor, transmission, and pitch stop mounts will give me more peace of mind

![]() I should prolly get a pro-tune for my Verticooler+charge pipe / EGR/TGV delete / Turboback setup I'm running. Using an e-tune currently but doesn't feel as fast as I'd expect it to with all htese other Dyno sheets I'm seeing pushing over 300whp/320wtq makes me jelly.

![]() As soon as Cobb enables the Stratified/Homogeneous switch in ATR I plan to do these. I am interested in what kind of part throttle drive ability and mileage increases the mod can achieve.

I'd post a video from in car but I can't post pics/videos yet! |

![]() So far since I've been tuned and I've filled up twice and averaging 25 mpg mixed driving. I haven't really had many opportunities to really get on it because it seems like in North Jersey all I ever do is sit in traffic or congested roadways

![]() Thoughts on doing this with stock catback? Not really looking to make gains; just improve the way the car runs. Not looking to spend ~$1k on a noise maker.

![]() installed a mishi CAI w/box and grimmspeed EBCS at the same time on my car and i personally like the sound. Its only louder when you give it throttle. On the highway you hear minor whooshes but nothing that is louder than the exhaust or road noise.
Everyone who rides in my car asks what BOV i have since the stock BPV is much more audible. My tuner hates tuning for intakes and told me stock is the way to go for his sake due to irregularities that the aftermarket intakes all seem to introduce into the fueling. |

![]() Follow Seeeya's guide on how to modify your stock CBE and remove whatever restrictions are in the muffler. That was the main reason I upgraded to the Cobb, I wanted less restriction/didn't have the time to do what he did. You won't notice a HUGE difference in power from a stock vs. aftermarket catback, maybe a few hp because you'll have less back pressure.

![]() Man you're killing me. I just finished an etune for my tbe and intake. Now I need to do the erg/tgv delete after seeing those numbers I'm assuming I'll be close to 300hp. Damn it, I told myself I'll hold off for a bit. This just reeled me right back in. Nice write up

![]() Leave pitch stop stock, do not mess with it until Perrin releases their fix to the issue or what they believe can aid their current psw, just do your tranny mount and motor mounts if you are able, those are a pita
