Probably close to 6 months for me and working as good as new. I haven't noticed anything loose or feeling less durable. I know it's been said, but the range is even way better with these than the stock ones...

One month and working great. Even the Subaru dealer was impressed. Only problem so far, the little Subaru emblem fell off somewhere.

Is there anyone making these for a fixed price? Too much detail work for me, but I would love to purchase one using my valet key.

Probably isn't actually a 2011 Legacy remote. I get tons of people in the same situation as you that have tried to go out on their own and gotten a wrong or non-working item. Not much you can do except buy another one. If you want one that's guaranteed to work, you can contact me. |

I ordered two of these from Xluben. Still waiting on one legacy remote , but I have one completed so far.
So here is my mini review. First: I cut out my valet key and retro fitted it. Quality: Overall, it is a good quality switchblade housing. Not the best I have felt, but I wouldn't consider it cheap either. Very happy with it. Ease of use: The legacy remote takes a little wiggling to get in there correctly, but if you read Xluben's write up on page 1 he does give you a heads up about that The assembly of the remote if a piece of cake. The hardest part was retro fitting my valet key, and even that wasn't that difficult with the right tools (knife, clamp, files, dremel/hacksaw) When retro fitting a key, leave yourself as much room as possible to make the key as long as possible (basically follow Xluben's instructions) You don't want to cut the key to short. Final product: Overall I am really happy with it. Everything is solid with very little wiggle. IMO, definitely worth the money. As soon as Xluben sends me my second legacy remote ;-) I'm going to get the key laser cut at a lock smith and see if there is a difference. I'll let you guys know which is better. Thanks for a great product! |

Thanks for the review! Looking forward to the updated review. You should have your parts soon. I agree that if you're going to mod the OEM blade to fit, you HAVE to make it as long as possible. There isn't a lot of extra space in the steering column so if you cut it too short it won't work.

Xluben, so I finally got around to programming the flip key to my car. I think I did it correctly, the flip key starts the car, locks, unlocks, and opens the trunk. Out of curiosity I tried the original keyless key fob and for some reason it still works. Did I break something if both my original keyless fob and the new switchblade key/fob work?

Yeah, I remember thinking that too. But I was under the impression that when I program the new one, the car forgets the other key fobs and you have to re-program your factory ones. Maybe that assumption is wrong.

It can hold up to 4 codes. So it is normal for the factory remotes to work.
