Question How to install 2007 AUX Input on 2006 WRX?

I just installed an '07 MP3 headunit in my 2006 WRX. I have little AUX input box that is supposed to go into the ash tray area.

Is it just supposed to replace the stock ash tray? I tried and tried to shove it in the ash-tray hole (ash tray taken out, of course) and it doesnt seem to fit. Is it supposed to fit, or do I need an '07 ash-tray area part?

Well, I just did it! It fits! Just remove the stock ash tray, and the AUX Input box fits right in there!

I removed the entire shifter trip peice, and then unscrewed the black part from behind (the power outlet/ash tray hole). This makes it easier to shove the AUX input box in there. Once you get it in there, it just clicks in perfectly!

You will neeed to use the 2007 headunit for it to work, of couse (unless you figure out your own wiring)...but it physically fits 100***37;!

I bought the 2007 HU + AUX box for $250 from another member here. It was slightly used of course
