Windows update = not recognizing Tactrix
Hey,
I just wanted to check to see if anyone else was experiencing this issue - I just updated my Windows OS (Cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1803 for X64-based systems; security update for Flash Player for Windows 10 version 1083 ) via the updater, and now ECU Flash doesn't recognize the cable. When I open ECU Flash, it says "No vehicle selected. No vehicle interface." Have any of you experienced this? Is there a workaround? Thanks!

I checked the latest version available for download, and it's the same as I was already running. But yeah, maybe a fresh install would do it. Here's another thing though - I tried opening RomRaider Logger, and it wasn't recognizing the cable or car. So it isn't just ECU Flash. And I haven't moved any of my ECU/car definition locations either. Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall the Tactrix driver...

Update - Got it working!
I tried a new USB cable, that wasn't it. But after going back and forth with Mike at Tactrix (excellent customer service!), we deduced that it wasn't a hardware problem. So I uninstalled/reinstalled the driver and that let the computer recognize the cable. But ECU Flash still wasn't recognizing the car. I tried the RomRaider Logger, and it DID recognize the car. So I uninstalled/reinstalled the ECU Flash software, reloaded the latest Subaru definitions in the Metadata folder, and then assigned the default vehicle. And we're back in business! So in short, heads up - if you update your OS software, you might need to reinstall your software and drivers. |
