![]() Subaru EU has confirmed they will show an EV the size of a Forester, the first half of 2021.
Toyota has said also today, that they will show a prototype with a solid state battery offering a range of about 500km / 310miles. 2+2=4? Do you think Subaru's EV will pack that new solid battery? |

![]() Hmmm yeah, I think you are right. I got too "excited" by the news haha
They actually said that the Subaru EV will be "introduced" next year and Toyota's solid state battery will only be displayed as a prototype and is not yet ready to be mass produced. At this point I only care that Subaru sells enough EVs so they can bring some interesting petrol powered cars to EU... Subaru dealerships are quite depressing right now only offering two fat "hybrid" SUVs paired to a CVT and the base impreza CVT. ![]() |

Some details on the Toyota variant. Could be called BZ (Beyond Zero). BZ1-BZ5 and BZ4X, BZ5X have been trademarked. ![]() ![]() |

![]() I'm interested in these new EV's coming to market.
I will not purchase some dorky looking turdmobile just because it's an EV. The concept photos and renderings in this thread are disgusting. Seriously, just bring out a Forester or Outback or whatever that doesn't have as many openings in the grill and call it done. People like the look of Teslas... why? Because while it's got it's own style, it doesn't look like a ****ing turd. It's not the best looking car out there, but it's not a kindergardner's sketch on the back of a cardboard box... |

![]() I’m not at all enamored with Subaru’s new found love of angular and/or contrasting fenders. I don’t like thick C pillars. And, the sloping rear wastes valuable cargo space.
Other than that, I don’t think it looks too bad. Fix the objections above, and it might actually be handsome for it’s intended purpose. |

![]() I wonder if the car that Subaru will share the architecture with is an EV version of the C-HR. Looking at this photo describing some new EV's coming out in china, there are a lot of design characteristics shared by this vehicle and the concepts that we've seen for the Toyota version.
![]() If that's the case, maybe it won't be the worst looking thing in the world, I haven't really been opposed to the C-HR styling, it's just got no spunk. |

![]() we already have crosstrek plugin so I believe we don't need to crosstrek sized ev especially if we might get an impreza hybrid down the line. a forester sized ev is the better choice. my beef is subaru may recommend not to use this new EV offroad unlike the crosstrek plugin hybrid

![]() I see them keeping the PHEV, since it will help with the cafe regulations. having both the PHEV and BEV, should help subaru have both the wrx and STI without overall emissions getting in the way. you are right about the forester size BEV being better for both passenger and cargo room

![]() This... I think that the Crosstrek hybrid goes away once the BEV shows up. The smaller car will result in a better BEV than something forester sized/shaped.
