Default is 220k miles too much on an 02?

Looking at buying my first WRX, however im limited on cash. (isn't everyone though?)

anyways. I found a 2002 WRX wagon that has 220k miles on it, but a lot of the engine has already been gone through, Head gasket, timing belt, etc. Is it worth the risk? or should I keep looking.

Apparently it was checked out by a mechanic 2k miles ago and it passed with flying colors.

thanks.

Bought mine with 180k. I had most service receipts and it was a one owner car. Original owner commuted pretty far so mostly highway. Anyways, I did basic tune up, fixed small leaks here and there and it runs fine. Currently down to 13.1 in the 1/4 and looking to go quicker next year. It's all in how it's been taken care of. Mileage to me is just a number.

Wholly depends on how cheap it is and how comfortable doing repairs you are.

If you're limited on cash don't buy a car that's so old/used. This isn't like buying an old civic with the same mileage. Save your money and get something else.
