Check the 1st page, post #2 for info. Meets are every other Monday around 7pm at Uptown Grille at Haggerty and Maple (across from Dwyer). Next meet would be next week on the 4th if anyone is going to be around and wants to actually have a meet.

I don't know of anyone who hangs out with the local crowd that traded on in at Hodges. If you're thinking about buying I would talk to Hodges and see if they'll let you have it checked out by an independent mechanic. Then call Oakos Automotive in Sterling Heights and see if you can bring it to them for a quick look. Their mechanical/service guy is really good and most of their business is Subarus.

Is anyone interested in having a meet on the 4th? Not sure how many of you are traveling for the holiday. I'm not going anywhere and if the weather is nice I'm not opposed to sitting on the patio and enjoying a margarita and good eats.

Fiesta is under warranty and he got an extended warranty out of the deal.

Boss 302 would be pretty boss.

Don't know for sure I'm going to do. I just feel like its time to sell it. All major maintenance was just done, recently tuned and fresh from the body shop for fixing a few small cosmetic things.

It just sits there anymore since i work so damn much. I would rather get something that is more practical and fun. Jeep Unlimited or something along those lines.

How exactly is a Jeep more practical than your STi? You just want more hauling space or something to go rock crawling? Its certainly no better on gas and isn't as fast. Probably not much or any better for winter, unless the STi isn't getting driven in the winter. Its hard to suggest a new "toy" when your DD is already a compact car. You really have nothing to use to haul anything larger than a person home from any store.

I would think a Solstice, Sky, Z4, or even a C5 'vette would be cool as they are fun in stock form and you can put the top down and have fun on the nice days when you're actually able to enjoy it. But those have less hauling capacity than the Fiesta. A V6 Mustang would be pretty cool, except for the wait to buy one. Decent power, great mileage for a 300hp car, and plenty of fun to tool around in. You could trade the Fiesta for one and then pick up a cheap awd/4wd beater for winter use. Then your winter beater/truck doubles as your hauling vehicle.

Yeah, its not mpg issue w/STI so much as wanting a truck or Jeep with some towing capability. The Fiesta works well for what it is point A to point B w/ great fuel economy. I've been averaging 38mpg!

A Jeep would provide top down enjoyment and 4wd for winter. I was thinking about keeping the STI, but between the insurance and paying for storage it adds up quick. Havinng only being able to take the car to a track once in 6 yrs seems like a waste. I will probably regret my decision once it is sold but that is life.

I don't regret selling my WRX at all. Forester gets almost the same mileage to and from work and it is more comfortable and hauls more. Miata provides enough "fun" on the sunny days. Miata is also only $5 a month to insure in the winter when stored. Forester + Miata are cheaper to insure than the WRX was.

Jeremy - The night before you said you were gonna put it up for sale, I had a dream that I was driving around in my EB and parked it in a parking lot, got into my grey STi and drove off. I'm psychic. You should give me the STi because I has such an awesome dream. I'll give you the GTi so you have something to drive in the winter...just fix the transmission issue it's got.

It may have been a flashback Mike, from when you had a cgm STI. I should give you the STI for a great price! I'll take some $$ off the price w/ GTI. I could use proceeds from the sale to buy a straight cut gear box for the GTI. Loud but so much awesome.

OK, I have a slight problem. The RE070s I now have on my summer wheels seem to be rubbing when I hit a dip or something.

I have read they're supposed to be one of the widest 225s out there, so I guess I need to roll my fenders a bit. Who's got the baseball bat? Anybody want to help? Thanks.
