Default clogged windshield squirter

my right squirter has been pretty solidly clogged for the past couple months. Pulled the bugger out and dunked him in hot water several times, tried blowing the obstruction out, put it in the microwave for a few seconds just in case it was wax clogging it - to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions? A new one from the dealership is way too expensive for such a small part. Thanks.

Go to the dealer and take a car on a test drive....get well out of sight and swap yours for one you know works

....or go to the boneyard and get a couple to try....

It's probably the check ball in the line going to it. It happened to me about a month after I got my car back in 2002. Pull the hose apart and clean out the check ball. put it back together and it should work fine.

hey, thanks. I'll give that a try and see how that goes. (The check ball, not the dealer - as tempting as it sounds.)

Sometimes if they're clogged up you can get a tiny needle and clean out the nozzles.

Ben
exactly.

the needle trick works but...
destroys the bit of the washer nozzle that aims the fluid.

You're talking about a $15 part here
why dont you just replace it?

(just did mine on my RS)

use packing tape, duct tape isn't that good when it's hot out

you'd make a great cop scotty. actually, for some reason my right squirter works quite well now, probably just took a day to sort itself out. I suppose I *could* go jack some just for sport.
