ebay i/c? Not where I would mount the bov, maybe on the i/c core so you have some more room.

Process West V-Mount. Nothing rubs...

I'd like to mount it on the core one day.

Does it matter what side of the core I have the BOV on? Because the driver's side is tight with the coolant overflow tank there...

Does anyone know of a replacement throttle cable that's shorter for reverse manifolds. I found one awhile ago but lost the link

I didn't mean for that to make it in the picture.

I got the manifold mostly shaved last night, trimmed the alternator bracket, and made a usdm wrx throttle body fit on the v5/6 manifold. I still have a few more holes to weld shut and another spot or two on the manifold to shave.

Damn marcos I love the build. The green looks way better than the polished manifold.

That pulley is awfully close to the pipe. Are you worried it be rub once driving around?

Haha, it has more clearance now. That was before anything was welded or clamped in place.

Looks real good. I'd love a phase one wrc manifold, just need someone to make me adapter spacers so i can have phase two heads.

OK so my throttle cable finally broke. No luck sourcing a shorter replacement and subaru wants $55 for a new one. I came across a post the other day where someone modified their own and I came to the conclustion that if they could do it, so could I

and I will teach you!

the only part youll really need are some cable stops. I found these at O'reillys for 3 bucks. You can also find them at NAPA. I also got some heat shrink for the bling bling effect.

Remove the throttle cable from the car. I actually removed the pedal along with it. It was actually faster removing the 2 12mm bolts holding everything together inside the car. Inside the engine bay the cables held on the manifold with 2 12mm nuts. Loosen those and pull the assembly out.

Before doing any cable work, measure the end length of the cable. Pull the cable (throttle body end) until there is no more slack and measure the distance from barrel end to cables shielding. MY cable was broken but i was able to get a reading of 5 1/4IN. These cables are adjustable so even if your new cable length is off by a little you will be able to adjust it.

I then cut the barrel end of the cable and pulled it out of the shielding.

once you have the shielding in hand, the cable adjustment end will need to come off. This is easily done by pulling and twising the cable and the end until the coils start to come apart inside the crimped housing. here is a picture of what im talking about.

you will then need to measure how long you will need your new cable.

I measured from fire wall to the intake manifold cable mount and gave myself enough slack to route the cable how i liked. This was 20in

i measured from the shieldings firewall plug to the end of the cable, then cut. strip the plasting shielding to explose the metal coils. 1/2in would be enough. at this point you can put put the cable back inside the shielding, slip some heat shrink on the cable and crimp on your adjustment end.

Again, remove the slack from the cable and measure out the distance you will need for the barral end. I cut this cable at 5 1/4in and installed the cable stop using two set screws found at LOWES. Torque them down with loctite. Get them nice and tight. I didnt like the phillips screws this kit came with

reinstall everything and make sure to use the adjustment nuts on the cable to take the slack out. Test and enjoy your shorter cable.

all done. excuse the mess, im actually trying my best to clean the engine bay up.

I've enabled my methanol injection on my setup and have started tuning. I think there's some merit clocking the throttle body 180 as everyone is suggesting, at least if you're doing wet spray. Perhaps this is less of an issue without some type of wet cooling going on. I show cylinder 1 as the noisiest right now (not on stock ecu), and I'm trying to figure out a way to pull more data. I guess I won't know for sure without individual o2 or 4 channel EGT, which I'm not going to spring for.

I'll fab a thicker throttle body spacer and mount the throttle body 180 and report back. I don't have much evidence other than raw knock from the 4 cylinders with the passenger side showing a bit more noise, which is normally the opposite.. This could also just be mismatched injectors too. But if I clock throttle body so it's vertical and it goes away, at least there can be a stronger correlation.
