02 ac compressor

I have a 02 wrx wagon Impreza.
I'm having trouble removing my ac compressor from the bracket. I'm seeing videos on YouTube where some people are having no issues at all, leading me to believe the 02 were design a little differently than the newer models?
Any case, I have the all harness, plugs belt attach to the compressor loose. I'm stuck at the bottom bolt closest to the timing belt cover. Cant seem to pull that bolt all the way out without it interfering with the pulley/belt.
Pulling the motor, so I will be needing that mounting point bracket where the ac and alternator kind of meet.

Just move the pulley belt out of the way and the bolt will come out.
Done this before on my '02

Should I be poking around with the timing belt?

To remove the bottom bolt, no. You should be able to remove all necessary bolts without touching the timing belt.

Maybe push the belt out of the way but no reason to loosen it if that is what you were asking

dont forget bolt 4 bottom of the compressor!

It seemed nearly impossible to get that bolt out with the timing belt and pulley in the way regardless how hard I tried to wiggling around it. Even more so the bolt next to it regardless if I had the right swivel attachment still proved as difficult.

Anyhow, I did manage to get the ac compressor out by removing it with engine hoist mount as one unit. (I will be putting that mount back in to pull my motor) It gave plenty enough room to pull that pita bolt free and 4th and final bolt next to it.
I'm just confused on how I see many people on the web pulling those 2 bottom bolts with just a swivel with ease. Is it a 02 wrx thing that was later corrected?

Can't be an 02 WRX thingy sine mine is an 02 WRX and never had the issues you are dealing with.

Maybe you are just one of the lucky ones?

That bolt goes through a bracket then through the compressor. There are two of them - one toward the back at the corner of the intake. There is a 14mm head bolt that goes down through the bracket on the head - remove that bolt, loosen the back bolt, then you pull the compressor up to get the bolt out.
