1995 Legacy Headlight Wiring
I own a 1995 Legacy 2.2L. The headlight wiring is for lack of better term is melting. I was told there is an "aftermarket splice kit" available. DOes anyone know who is the manufacturer or where I can find this kit?

What type of headlight bulbs do you have? They should be either H4 or 9007. Your local auto parts store should have replacement connectors with wire pigtails that you can use to make a repair, just cut the old connectors off along with any melted wire and splice the replacement to the harness. Be sure to make good connections and insulate them well. Soldering and heat shrinking is the preferred method, butt-splices and electrical tape as an alternative.
After the repair is done be sure to use only stock wattage bulbs, use of aftermarket bulbs is the usual cause of harness/connector damage especially if the bulbs are higher than stock wattage. |
