Questions: Defi boost gauge install
Defi gauge blue racer "boost"
I was wondering if I can use the stock boost gauge power lines, the red, white, black and orange wires for the power and ground. If so do i just cut the wires to the stock and attach re connect the new wires coming from the new power plug that goes into the gauge itself? Also can i reuse the hose from the stock gauge? Is the only thing i'm doing with the install is installing the new boost pressure sensor and the gauge, i can keep the stock power wires? Thanks a ton

First you should update your profile... knowing what year & model of your car would help a lot!
most of the replies you might get will probably be from people telling you to use the wires from your radio Harness. What series Defi gauge is it? I just installed my Defi Blue Racer boost gauge a few months ago & I utillized the boost hose from my OEM boost gauge. There's a proper diagram on how to wire up the Defi's up here somewhere (search), aside from the wiring diagram that should have come w/ the gauge. |

thank you. It is a defi blue racer boost gauge
I just made this account so i haven't gotten to put specs up yet. thanks for the reply. Because i have the oem gauge, can i use the same wires? For instance I take the connector to the gauge that has the 4 colored wires from it; cut them and re attach them to the oem wires that are currenty running the gauges power ect. Will this work? the link helped a lot, but i'm still wondering if i can get around from doing it the hard way and just cut the stock gauge wires and reattach them to my new gauge. |

no......lol If you want your Defi gauge to work properly you'd do it the right way! Plus is not hard to get to your radio wire harness. Plus you'll have to use a different ground other than the existing ground that comes off your OEM boost gauge.
