Default Grimmspeed UEL Header

https://www.grimmspeed.com/unequal-l...09-outback-xt/

Hey all. I just got my Grimmspeed unequal (but actually equal?) length header installed today along with the Grimmspeed ceramic coated up-pipe. Previous exhaust work:
- Grimmspeed divorced wastegate, ceramic coated downpipe (with the fancy entra CNC work)
- Crawford Gymkhana cat back
- Magnaflow high-flow muffler in the midpipe to cut some of the cackle

As far as install went itself, my mechanic did it since I don't have a lift, and do not want to jack the car up and lay under it with almost no room to work. He said everything went on fine.

This review will really be more for telling you all about my impressions.

My initial reaction on day one is that my car now sounds like a ****box Honda. I'm upset. I feel stupid that I spent $1,000 for a header and another $300 for an up-pipe only to lose the iconic Subaru rumble (at anything past idle) despite being led to believe this magical header would preserve what I love about my car.
As far as throttle response and whatnot, I think I can tell a difference, but my car is in desperate need of a tune and I also just had some solid transmission bushings put in, so that nicer feel might be from them.
I'm going to give this header a solid month to see if the sound comes back a bit, as I know brand new exhaust usually does sound raspy and bad, as it isn't coated inside with carbon. I'll update this post when I can, so you all know what's up.

I do indeed feel like the sound has come back a bit. I don't think it's from me just getting used to it. My mechanic says it still sounds equal length, but I can definitely hear the slight lope while cruising. It obviously is not going to sound like OEM manifolds, but it's not bad.
As I say in another post, I highly recommend getting this thing coated before install, as I would expect that to insulate the tininess as well as help your under-hood temps. If you run a skid plate, it would help a bit to add sound deadener to the plate.

Well damn, guess I will scratch this from my to do list on my 19 STI. Will have to find someone to port the stock manifold.
