Dang, BigElm. I was hoping you were here to ask for - nay, demand! - Levorg. (Keep up the good work, BTW! Sorry if we aren't always on target.)

Dear SOA,
I drive a 2009 Impreza 2.5i. I have been waiting for the 2015 WRX now since the concepts appeared hoping there would be a wagon/5-door model. Hence my disappointment when there was no wagon introduced. I own a dog, I like to camp and I work in the entertainment industry so I consistently find myself needing the extra room the wagon offers. I also want more power than 170hp and a bit more styling than a Focus ST. Please bring a WRX Wagon to the USA. The Levorg works but it kind of looks like a minivan with a hood scoop. You could always drop the new FA Turbo motor into the Crosstrek! I'd buy that in a heartbeat! Sincerely, the guy that now has very little options for his next car. |

Dear SOA,
The VIZIV 2 concept car seems to have a lot of features that would work well for the next-gen Tribeca. Those sliding (pivoting?) doors would make for good, minivan-like access to 2nd and 3rd rows. The 3-motor hybrid system would be great for longer trips (and the plug-in capability great for shorter trips). I was impressed with the Tesla Model X when it was first announced. Tesla is combining the best aspects of a minivan, SUV/Crossover, & sports car (according to their presentation). I could see the next Tribeca do the same thing at a lower price-point. If you can do all that, and still squeeze in plenty of storage space, I'd be sold on it. |

FA20 for XV Crosstek
SOA (and all Subaru for that matter):
The XV Crosstek needs a turbo. It has several times been deemed a "dog" by reviews in automobile magazines. The XV is obviously a sweet spot for owners that live in places where snow, dirt roads, mud, and steep inclines are just part of the "highway system". The XV needs a turbo for many reasons, but some come to mind quickly: A) Be able to pass traffic in the highway without hesitation / concern. B) Be able to power out of snowy/muddy terrain. C) Have the muscle to carry four people and plenty of gear up a steep slope. It's ground clearance is great, but its power output seems not up to par. Please think back to Baja Turbo with raised suspension. A FA25 normally aspirated should replace the current offering, and the FA20 Turbo should be offered for people demanding more performance. Ideal output for the FA20T could start at 225HP. The price for the turbo model shouldn't go above $30K; ideal start price could be $25K. I am a loyal Subaru owner and I would buy an XV with a turbo right now to complement my Subaru collection. But due to the lack of more power I've decided to wait and see what manufacturer will be the first to offer the above requests. Last edited by palpullero; 04-15-2014 at 10:41 AM. |

How about just putting the GUTS, seats, etc... from the '15 WRX into the XV Crosstrek.
Straight transition... maybe the only difference, put the stout STI 6-speed DCCD transaxle and rear diff into it, behind the FA20DIT, with JDM Legacy DIT's 296hp tune. (use that drivetrain in the low-height sedan, and you unify the WRX and WRX STI into ONE model, with the best of both. Keep the symmetrical basic 6-speed on a bargain model, if you must...) 5x114.3 hubs, brakes, and wheels, with high grade and over-sized wheel bearings... (at least owners could then fit a wide variety of strong forged 17" or 18" wheels) Maybe use the WRX fascia and hood scoop, but keep the bottom edges of the bodywork and wheel wells un-painted. It will solve the problem of no WRX hatch, it will be better as a light truck for your CAFE considerations, and won't have trouble bottoming out on rough roads or off-road. Paint it WRB, and give us a REAL TRUE RALLY CAR for the road, and off of the road. It really is that easy. ... that easy to beat the pants off of Mini Countryman and (and Paceman if you cut two doors off, and lower the roof a bit as a long-roof 3-door), and Range Rover Evoque, and maybe even outsell the WRX sedan. |

Dream Machine
Please build an AWD 2.0 twin scroll turbo DIT six speed manual that is the same size as the Ford Fiesta ST, with wide fender flares, wide tyres, rear wing, top mount intercooler, alcantara Recaro seats, roll cage, 4-pot brakes,
remote reservoir rally dampers and BRAID rally wheels. I will pay you 30K for it. |

I was shocked to realize that despite paying for the Limited WRX trim, my passenger side has manual seat adjustments unlike my driver's side.
Is that common in newer cars? I would have paid extra to have that convenience for my passengers. I feel like that the lack of that passenger amenity was a major corner cut on Subaru's end. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

Well, yeah, but it actually made sense this time!
Anyway, SOA, how about a proper minivan? Look at the Ford Transit Connect. Do that, but with AWD and more ground clearance. Keep in mind that families are a little tighter for cash, so don't go chasing the Oddysey and Sienna with their mid 30 price tags. Start it just under 30 and you can shut up and take my money (before Ford does) |

I'd be totally okay with Subaru making the next-gen Tribeca a little more like a minivan (or midivan). But make it sporty.

only way i'll part with my '07 SpecB is when there's a AWD diesel wagon. You've got 2 years. VW is bringing the Sportwagen, but I'd like something with a little more room in the back. The Levorg would be perfect.

Dear SOA
Recently Dash Cams have received a surge in popularity, given that Subaru's EyeSight is basically two cameras, could a function not be added that would enable what the cameras see be recorded to a USB drive. As the EyeSight is connected to the cars computer, speed, revs, braking, along with other data could be added to the video. Any extra cost would be ofset by the savings on not having to buy a dash cam. thanks (Yes I know that living in Japan if SOA did do this it wouldn't help me, but, if USDMs get it there would be a good chance other countries models would as well) |

Dear SOA,
I've got a 2007 VW GTI that I'd like to replace in the next year or two. To me, the 2015 WRX is a huge disappointment from a styling standpoint, so as much as I'd like to own one for it's other attributes, it's not even on my list of potential cars. Here's what would earn my business: 1) First and foremost, a Crosstrek with the WRX's drivetrain. I want ground clearance and suspension travel to handle bad roads and heavy snow, but the current Crosstrek drivetrain is woefully inadequate. And simply adding 20-30 hp won't cut it...I want a car that's as much fun to drive as a WRX, but with the aforementioned suspension capabilities. 2) WRX hatchback. It's that simple. Thanks. |

I don't want a new model, I just want to go order a Levorg in the U.S. the second I can.
Please give us the "WRX wagon" Levorg before I give in and replace my current Subaru with something other than a Subaru. |

How about a TR model for sti and the brz. A stripped down sport model without the unnecessary extra stuff. I wanted to get a BRZ, I dont think it is worth the money. My wrx cost a little more, but it a lot more practical and easier to deal with as a daily.
