Honda can't get their hands on enough batteries to bring it to NA. They can't even get enough batteries to put Clarity PHEVs on dealer lots outside of Cali since 2019.

The Honda E is several inches longer than a MINI Cooper, which aren't all that small these days.

Someone tried to render the Solterra based on the Toyota and the teased photo.

Toyota EV for reference:

I hope it is a little different than that. Overall, probably correct.

They're all starting to look pretty similar these days.. surely an effect of not needing to work dynamics around differing engine compartments and maximizing interior space. Front bumper fascia, narrow headlights, rear fender bulge, slanted roof lines. check.

A dishwasher will never be a real doll, and a real doll will never clean dishes.
As per Workaholics though, i guess you can put a real doll in a dishwasher.

I had a loaner Forester the other week. I enjoyed it. It somehow moved out of its own way. Not sure how, but it did. Needed more orange striping though.

My gf can't wait to get one of these. Wish I could take her XT and 6MT swap it when she's done with it...

Looks like it has a round steering wheel unlike the Toyota concept. The rear tail lights are also different from the Toyota concept.

  • terra is a Latin word meaning "earth"
  • soltera is from the Latin word solitarius where we get English word solitary

Soltera es un amigo falso to Solterra. The extra 'r' is because they have completely unrelated etymology.

-----------------------------
One of the most famous of English/Spanish false friends.
-----------------------------
  • embarrass was first used in English in the 1670s comes from French word embarrasser, "to block" or "to obstruct", or figuratively, "to put one in a difficult situation"
  • embarazada means "to be pregnant" in Spanish. The word has a difficult etymology to trace, but it may be closely related to the French figurative definition of embarrasser "to put one in a difficult situation". However, there are multiple etymologies proposed and it may have come from Celtic that was spoken in Portugal before the Roman Empire expanded that far.

As Parker Pens went into the Mexican market they wanted to translate that the pens "won't leak in your pocket and embarrass you". But the ads read "No te embarazará chorreándose en tu bolsillo", which means the pens "Won't leak in your pocket and impregnate you".

let us not forget the little translation mishap for the chevy Nova.

Ver is the spanish word for 'to go' if I recall my high school spanish classes. No va translates to 'you do not go'.

shockingly they did not sell well south of the Rio Grande

Why.
So.
Much.
Plastic.
???

That front fender is entirely plastic. Or, at least it appears to be. How can that be safe? There must be more to the story.

why is subaru being so much more secretive about their version? Toyota already has full images available. 'Twas similar with the 86/brz too, longer media embargos.

We all know what it's going to look like, a minor tweak to the Toyota version, just share the full details already.

These will be a huge hit with the LGBTQ crowd. May bump the forester off the top spot.

The lgbtq demographic tends to trend toward certain cars. This is right in line with what they buy the most. I live in palm springs now and its interesting to see what different demographics tend to drive. The majority of what i see here reflects even the stereotypes like miatas and cabriolets and so on a lot along with a big big trend toward the subarus. Cutesy cars, subarus, cutting edge tech non-ICE cars, and luxo range rovers reign here with the lgtbq+-%* crowd. The solterra will be flying off the lots.

To me it screams, we are behind the times and are never going to catch up. Except Nissan which was early with the Leaf my impression is all of the Japanese car makers are 10 years behind a snowball rolling down hill at them. I love Subaru but am not optimistic for their future if it is EV. Everyone is going to be doing an appliance suv EV in a few years on a limited supply of batteries because except for Tesla no one is building their own plants so they are all going to be standing in line waiting for batteries and competing with Ford GM, Daimler, VW, Nissan all the up and coming Chinese car makers. I think the Japanese get snowballed by the EV wave.

Because there is truth in every stereotype. Most White People cannot dance. Most Italians like wine and pasta.
Most rednecks like jacked up trucks.
Most Engineers have terrible fashion sense.

Nothing is 100% accurate, but stereotypes exist for a reason as they are mostly true.

This should not come as a shock.

And there are always many exceptions. There are many people who do not fit into your boxes.

I have lesbian neighbors. They own three vehicles.
GM Full size Truck.
Mini Cooper (some upper trim sporty model type deal)
and a BRZ.

I'll let them know you said they are doing it wrong.
