Digging those gunmetal ones though. And the design looks like it would be easy to clean, which is always a selling point for me ![]() Black wheels are not acceptable either, although my crosstrek had a set of the optional crosstrek STI wheels, which were black gloss. So I guess there are exceptions. ![]()

How so? The '23s are just getting on the ground. Quote:

No nitpicking. The only thing "similar" between the two is the amount of black plastic. Though I have no issue with the WRX's design, that Mustang one was designed better. Not oddball looking. You're trying to say this "trend setting" is a good thing. How is it good when it's making people dislike they way the car they would like to buy ugly to them? Quote:

![]() ![]() I'm a big fan of Konig flowformed wheels for their lightness, increased strength, and being relatively affordable. I always look for weight specs before I look at aesthetics. Last edited by jimbobjohnbrown; 05-24-2023 at 07:22 PM. |

I'm not going to pretend that I'm in love with the cladding on my WRX (although I do like it overall aside from the 'not-so-pretty' back bumper). I bought it because it drives great and it's one of the last remaining fun stick shifts out there at a reasonably affordable price. Also, I wanted to desperately get out of the crosstrek.... Not a bad car at all for what it is, but the mushy suspension, CVT, and lack of any type of joy from driving it, had me hating it 4 months after I bought it. |

![]() Would there be more sales if this was the design approach that they took on the wrx? (sedan, wagon, whatever, just focus on the bumper design, fender design, etc...)
Subaru knows how to make a good looking wrx, they just chose to make something that looks terrible. looks more grown up, higher end, and actually deserving of MRSP. |

![]() You just reminded me that I'd swap to a Levorg bumper if I had a WRX.
Also HRE wheels aren't an expected wheel option for a Subaru. They look out of place. Do love me some HREs on other cars though. |

Subaru does what Subaru must do or what Subaru wants. But, I have the same 2 comments I have been making: - I'm not convinced with what they've done with FA24DIT in the VB WRX - but, the paradox is that I'd still happily purchase a WRX Wagon (chassis code?) with the very same FA24DIT under its hood WITH the SPT because it's a very good looking and affordable sporty wagon. |

Less complaining? A bit. Would I be more inclined to consider it (especially a wagon)? Yes! |

The new Impreza is now hatchback only; they should have made it sedan only (or even discontinue it), and give the WRX the hatchback only treatment. After all, the Impreza hatchback is nearly identical to the Crosstrek, aside from a few inches of ground clearance. |

![]() I'd be fine with the Impreza being discontinued IF it meant getting a WRX wagon (or hatchback) instead.

just stirring the pot, that's all. I'd love to see the wagon here, but I've pretty much moved on from Subaru, so I highly doubt I'd even consider it. But I would love to see it on the market so that maybe one of their competitors would consider bringing something similar to market (RS3 hatch). |

But, supposedly, the current WRX 6-speed transaxle is holding FA24DIT back to exactly 350 N.m. a.k.a. 258 ft-lbs. That's low; even for a 2.0L. I'm not saying that's a Subaru-specific issue; other manufacturers like VW have been struggling with this, to some extent. But, in the WRX, the issue is exacerbated by the usual AWD drivetrain losses; 258 ft-lbs to the crank doesn't leave us with that much to the wheels. |
