You put this in the conversion forum because?

There was no US wrx in 2001... 2002 is the first year, and good luck getting it close to 10k.
Look here for blue book

And here for tech info.

Dennis, please stop crossposting. You need only do this in one forum . Newbies and FAQ is likely the most appropriate forum, which is where I will leave one thread on this subject open.

US Spec WRXs didn't start till 2002

im looking to spend 10 grand and up on it...
Avg Price for a used wrx is probably closer to 15k, and that will have at least 40k miles on it

i love the car and i love everything about subaru...just wanted to know is it really worth buying it....i plan on doing alot of mods to it....is it reliable...
In stock form the car is as reliable as any other, will easily make it to 100k miles

is it good on gas....
Stock I get 26 on avg, lower that for lots of city driving, heavily modded, you can kiss you mpg good bye

hows the handling....
With stock tires, better then allot of other cars, but a new set of tires will completely transform the car. The AWD system is pretty impressive, but at the limits it will have a tad understeer

how much psi does it run stock...
Around 14psi

but also i was looking into the 2004 dodge srt-4....that car is pretty sick and i heard with the mopar upgrades u can get it faster than the sti...so i would really appreciate it if u guys can send all ur opinions on what should i do...

SRT is a decent car stock for stock, as far as getting it up to STi numbers, good luck with reliablily, on the same note you can get a wrx modded far beyond sti number, there are many members here that are putting down 300+ to the wheels, where the sti is making that at the crank

thanks alot,

dennis

Answers in bold above, srt holds a special place in allot of people hearts on this board, used you will probably find one cheaper, but without the LSD (new for the 04 models)

Good luck and happy hunting.

duuuuuude don't get the srt-4 ......they are fast but when i drove one i was unimpressed. the bucket seats are all flimsy and it is not AWD if that matters to you. it just felt like a cheap car from the second i sat down in it. get the subie if you find a good price.
