Default help me with my canary :(

hey, guys. I'm looking for an opinion on what could be the problem with my pet canary. It's a 9 year old bird with yellow feathers. On cold mornings, the bird barely squeeks and his head is difficult to turn. I checked his water and it's normal; there aren't any leaks, either; the feeder is in good shape.

is it a bad cold? something with the type of food? please help

A yellow bird,
With a yellow tail,
He landed on,
My windowsill.

I lured him in,
With a piece of bread,
And then I smashed his,
****ing head.

marinate him for 30mins, rotate, then after another 30 minutes, grill at med high to get that nice crisp first bite.

seriously, what the typical life span of the bird? maybe it's just aging? or perhaps its out of shape/in poor health from being caged all its life?

teh GF just stated "maybe it just needs some bird puss"

I tie fishing line around my canarys foot, and take him out for a fly.
Of course it helps if the fishing line is on a fishing pole. When I get tired, I just reel him back in. He loves it, and has been healthier since I've been doing it.
Twice a day for best results.
