![]() I had this on my '02 WRX, in cold weather it would reak of gasoline in the cabin if you turned on the heat (started happening like 2-3 years after i bought it). You can see on the engine block if it's leaking pretty easily, should either appear "wet" or there may me a clean spot where the gas has cleaned off the dirt on the engine. I tried tightening the lines and didn't really have much luck with this, seemed to help a little bit but never went away. Since this is a TSB if you are out of warranty they won't do this for free, i think the subaru service runs between $400-$500. I just sucked it up and bought the perrin fuel rails and had them installed (you have to pull the manifold off to install them and EVERYTHING is attached to the manifold it seems). But i'm much happier now that I don't have to deal with it anymore. You may also want to check your fuel filter and connections there if you think it's comming from the driver's side.

![]() ^ Yep. I'm surprised that you smelt it today and not earlier in the winter. I've smelt it in the cabin and was worried a few times until I read some threads in the technical forums.
I also thought that maybe I got some gasoline on my hands when pumping gas, touched the inside door, steering wheel, shift knob, etc. and didn't notice it at the time...but with a fresh pair of nostrils the next morning, it was noticeable. Meh. |

![]() i had a similar situation. but it was my fuel filter out line clamp being loose. also there is a small hose on the fuel rail that goes under the intake manifold on the drivers side. the clamps were loose.
