I've been really happy with both Costco and Walmart batteries. Both are pretty inexpensive and both are rated really well by Consumer Reports.

^ it looks like you had a bad experience with Optima batteries. Please elaborate with model purchased and what went wrong.
This would be the first time I've experienced any negative feedback about them. Thanks! |

I had two Optima red-top 'BLEM' batteries that have literally lasted since 2002. They don't fit into all battery trays... but I'll be damned if they haven't functioned great as jumper batteries I just keep in my garage.
For performance, Odyssey is good, but you need to often sift through 2-3 dead-on-arrival batteries before you get a winner. Buy local if you pick one of these up. |

Walmart brand has always done just as good as any other brand. Plus their warranty is no questions asked.
