I'm on my 3rd set and one side spider cracked and then got a giant crack as well pretty quickly while the other side has no issues and is perfectly clear. I think it's the way they were installed. The hood probably smashes down on the one side only because my front end isn't perfectly symmetrical with regard to how the lights sit in their mounts. That's my theory anyway. Careful closing your hoods.

Installed a pair this week. Had them drop shipped to Lightwerkz to install a bi-xenon projector.

After researching and looking at some pics, I finally was able to remove the HIDs and add halogen H1 bulbs. Headlights going back in the car today Looks way better.

Buying 15 year old oxidized jdm headlights is just a waste of time. Buy depo and some nice bulbs. Plug n play. Be happy. |

I just retrod these with bi-led projectors. Haven’t wired them up yet but after taking out the h1 running them halogen, hid kit 35w, and led bulbs(trash) I can say oem jdm and a retrofit is a way better use of money. The h1 projectors that come in these are trash.
Still have to run a diode on the oem highbeam relay to power lows while high and ftp but other than bolstering the wiring to handle it I think these will be good. Plus a true led projector is way better light output. |

I just wanna know the cheapest way to get replacement lenses. My left Depo is still cracked down the center and has spider cracks all over and it's only a year or so old. The passenger side one is great. Anyone know the best way to get a new lens or set of lenses?

Had the blacked out Depo replacements on my 02 WRX for years until I just got rid of the car last week. they were not really showing any signs of clouding at all and worked perfectly. Maybe they are cheap, but I definitely do not agree they are low quality at all.

Wow this thread is still going?! I had to look way back to page 3, because I remember buying these and answering a bunch of questions about 6 years ago haha.

Depo bugeye jdm replicas
Haha, thank goodness it is, i almost texted you, this thread has answered all my q’s except...
Been 3 weeks, my drivers side only is still misting. Rain/snow/carwash did not cause any heavy condensation, but i continue to have this edge misting every night after i drive a bit, last ditch effort I plan to take the bulbs out and let it sit in the garage over the weekend in hopes if it isnt a seal issue, that it gets the last of the moisture out of the housing. Anyone else have this experience? The passenger side misted for a bit but has since stopped. Aside from this misting issue, I think these are pretty awesome looking headlights, love them. I never had that problem, but one thing you could try, is to take a pack of dessicant from something you buy online (the little package of chemicals that absorb moisture and put in in the housing overnight to absorb the moisture. Could even leave it in a place where it wont be a fire hazard. I do recall baking one open and resealing it, maybe it did get a little moisture. Last edited by cknowlen; 02-16-2019 at 10:30 PM. |

Good idea, i have the high beam bulb out and the low beam seal/cylinder off, so will try that over the weekend, but if that doesn’t work, I like the idea of trying to absorb it with a silica packet or something. |

Installed a pair of these about 4 months ago and they were working fine up until a few days ago. The passenger side low and high beam stopped working. I opened the cap on the back to find this:
The green wire and connector seems to have burned up. Does anyone know what may have caused this or what this wire is for? Could the bulb be pulling too much current for the 18 AWG wire? I'm going to rewire it but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot what may have caused this, and I don't want it to burn up again on me. |

Stock wattage bulbs? If so I'd suspect overheating from a high-resistance connection, either from the terminal being loose on the lug or a poor crimp on the wire (or both).
Clean it up, get the terminal shiny (but don't scrape the plating off), replace the wire and lug and make sure it's all tight. Use only stock wattage bulbs without any coating, avoid "superwhite" ones with blue coatings as they will run hot and do damage over time. |
