Would be interested to see the LED quality as well as the overall quality of the lights.

Sometimes 3rd party manufacturer LEDs can crap out early.

^This. Super interested in the lights, but I need to see them in person first.

I'd be interested to see what the beam spread and lumen specification is on the LED's, I've seen too many aftermarket LED lights that have beam spreads so narrow that you have to be in the perfect spot to see anything but a faint glow. It's dark and raining all too often around here, I want my tails to be visible. The high cost has me optimistic, but I try not to get caught up in the whole high-price-must-mean-premium-quality mentality.

Yep! I was planning to do a custom job. Basically a blacked out inner same as my headlights. I have them smoked right now, but I've always thought the blacked out insides with a brand new clear lens and a clear overlay to protect it would look better.

Valenti is probably the best LED light manufacturer out there in Japan. I wouldn't have issues trusting their product. They have a very extensive track record too.

In general, aftermarket companies are out to make a buck. If they can save $5 per light by using cheaper LED's, many will. Most consumers don't even realize how terrible aftermarket LED lights are with respect to beam spread, they just think "they're so much brighter!" without thinking about the fact that you have to stand in one exact location to see that brightness. This can be seen on just about every single aftermarket LED motorcycle tail light.

OEM manufacturers cannot skimp on the quality and beam spread of LED's because the lights need to meet many different standards, including rigorous photometric testing to ensure that lights are visible from many different angles

Unless Valenti provides photometric testing data conforming to US standards, I will remain skeptical and not purchase until I can see them in person and make a decision on how safe they are myself. After all, these are for "off-road" use, so I chose to do my due diligence.

So according to japan parts its $569.09 usd and shipping to d.c. is about $93usd. So around $667 shipped. If someone can speak japanese then asking for a group buy would be awesome.

I might be in depending on price, red and clear. Who else sells them besides japanparts.com? I thought I saw another vendor selling them but I couldn't find them again and they were around $400

A group buy has not started, at least not to my knowledge. i am contact with a few reputable vendors who deal directly with imported car parts from Japan. This thread was put together to bring awareness, and start to gather interested parties so that when we do get offered a reasonable rate, we have the head count to back it / pull the trigger much quicker

in other news, we are up to 20 interested members, which is well on its way to some decent pricing. only one brave soul so far for all clear

I have what should be a really promising lead on a vendor that works directly with importing Valenti lights from Japan. They have had a ton of successful group buys on numerous (including subaru) forums, so i hope to hear back from them soon.

Well hopefully you get some good news soon, a vendor is going to call me back with info in the next couple of days and when he does I'll pm you the info. Not trying to jack your group but I just want the lights haha
