Default SubiSpeed JDM style fog light bezel pics 17 WRX

I just installed my JDM style fog light bezels from SubiSpeed on my 17 WRX so I thought I'd post up some pics. I also have LED halo fog lights and Morimoto c lights. These are just my DRLs running.

Install is pretty simple. Takes about an hour or less. I tapped my power wire into my SubiSpeed DRL harness with the T-taps they provide. Just gotta remove the plastics underneath to route the wiring to the bezels themselves.

The quality of the LEDs seems good. They are nice and bright and match my halos on my fogs. The glossy paint could be a little better but after all these are knockoffs. I definitely like that the LED strip goes all the way across the bezel. I can't really complain so far.

Ok dumb question here. When you turn your lights on (or auto lights) do all of these turn off?

I don't have mine set up that way, but it's very simple to do that if you prefer it that way. My halos have an optional yellow wire that you would tap into the headlight power wire. The SS JDM fog bezels have an optional white wire that you would do the same. So when those wires get power they shut off the DRL.

I want mine on all the time so I did not use those wires.

I bought the JDM S4 bezels, installed the SS c light as drl harness and the JDM bezels and don't have any power to them. Check the harness connections, t taps, everything... cannot figure out what the **** is wrong. All headlights still work and the normal drls are still on, must've ****ed something up with the c light harness but no clue what. So frustrating.

The difference in color temperature would bother me.

Okay finally got the fogs powered. I thought the C lights as DRL harness from Subispeed would disable the normal high beam DRL. What's the step I'm missing?

The reason I couldn't get power seems to be because the harness I got from SMY had the red/black wires switched. Called and asked about it, he suggested switching the red and black up top where the t tap connection was and it worked (even though it went against every instinct I have to go red to black).

I think it was the DRL resistor that controls the high beam....

That's what I had thought as well, but for some reason I thought the Subispeed C light for DRL harness should do it (thought that was kinda the point). So for people that have done this, does this seem to be the best way: https://youtu.be/5-Wr1urB0rE -- any other advice?

Yes you have to unplug the drl box plug, that won't affect your bezels at all.

Yeah the plug you need to disconnect to turn off your original DRLs is on the passenger side behind the fog light bezel basically. SubiSpeed shows it on their DRL harness how to vid I believe. I think it was grey and only had 2 wires.

The color temperature is more noticeable in these pics than in real life. I also have low beam HIDs that match the c lights. I wish I would have known the Morimotos were gonna be a little more blue but oh well. I really like the way it looks. I also wouldn't want to tear the headlights apart again over it.

I want to but haven't yet. I've seen at least 1 or two done that way but not sure where.

That's good that it's been done, I have the Subispeed C-Light as DRL harness too so I can tap into that if I need to. Going to wait for the inevitable V2 to come out before I buy I think.

Question for those that installed with the subsided dRL harness. For the foglight bezel harness - did you just cut off the fuse tap, add the T tap and connect to the DRL harness? Also, where did you mount the balast?

Thanks

Looks good! Thanks for sharing. My SubiSpeed LED bezels just came in today, can't wait to get them on! I am still waiting for my Morimoto LED fogs to come in so they can get installed along with Morimoto D2S projectors and a Diode Dynamics C light. I too wanted the Morimoto C light but the shop doing the conversion suggested the DD as it would better match the color temp of the LED fogs/HID's.

Yes just like that and I just zip tied the ballast onto something. Can't really remember
