![]() Dayum. They straight up forgot to paint the front bumper. Surely that's not intentional.

![]() Believe it or not, but in the part of the world the Hybrid is most wanted of all: in Europe. It won't come.
In Holland price for a 136 hp 2.0L is 78000 dollar due to emissions. In the 90's Subaru sold +5000 cars, now 70 per year. |

![]() Hybrid, almost 600 miles of range? I'll believe it when I see it.

![]() Looks good. I wish the hybrid had more power though. Not asking for crazy. Just keep up with other hybrid imports...A minimum 200hp isn't asking for much.

![]() ![]() ![]() Interesting that the Wilderness has a different console. The hybrids seem to have the same console as the current model. Maybe a difference between 25 and 26 model years? |

![]() Agreed. I'm bummed, this was going to go on the short list for possible future cars, but probably not anymore. A used Hyundai Tucson hybrid is a much more appealing option at this point.

![]() The last mainstream place I'm trusting for stated power, stated mileage, and powertrain engineering is Hyundai/Kia. Tucson hybrid is 2nd to last place in reliability in the class. Also, the AWD versions of the other compact SUVs weigh more than Subaru's offerings. I imagine the hybrid AWD versions will be the same story.

![]() Wilderness trim is for US/Canada only and apparently customers here prefer the older cup holder setup. The shifter is old style too. May be, they will switch to the new design in a year or two after they unload excess part inventory.

![]() Forester has never had that cupholder style. That's a whole new console. Subaru either spent money on a new design to run in duality or they wasted money on the old design before instituting a new one 1 model year later.

![]() ^^ Yeah, I was going to say, that Wilderness console doesn't look anything like the console in my 24 Forester.
![]() Interesting that they've done every cupholder orientation possible: front/back, side/side, and offset/diagonal ![]() |

![]() And voluntary recall already.
Subaru recalled 20,366 model year 2025 Forester SUVs due to defective wheels. The recall is for certain vehicles with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Why the recall? The wheels may have an incorrectly specified lug seat surface This could result in the wheel being improperly attached This could cause a loss of vehicle stability and increase the risk of a crash What will be done? Dealers will inspect and replace the wheels, as necessary, free of charge Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 24, 2025 Owners can call Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614 |

What are the legroom width numbers between the two? I'm thinking the bottom pic may be slightly wider? I prefer the wilderness cupholder layout regardless. Closer to the hip.... sucks. |

Sounds like the Solterra/BZ$XVJHRYE issue. Jokingly(sadly) gonna play it off as them letting Toyota have too much influence on them. ![]() So, I forget. Was it a wheel design issue before or a hub bolt design issue? Quote:
Maybe? ![]() I don't recall any change to the inside of the Crosstreks though. |

More than likely that issue was found because of a thing in manufacturing called process capability. It basically says that the measurement data is centered enough and has small enough variance that it will statistically never be out of standard. So, controlling the material to spec and the process to spec, that should always be good. This is generally a requirement (or 100% inspection) for anything that is safety critical. How this issue can manifest, though, comes from chanoepoints or variance that isn't seen at trial timing but appears at mass production timing. At trial timing, capability data is collected with the assumption that the trial parts are representative of mass production parts. But for safety items, like lugnuts/lugbolts, they have to check these processes regularly with very tight limits in production, too. Trials go OK, production gets the green light... but then they start production and notice that the torque data has more variance than it did at trial phase. That triggers an investigation. When a safety item ends up out of spec but the material and process feeding it were within spec, they have to respond considering that there is material in the field that was at the edge of the original spec. Considering they are looking to improve the lug seat surface on the wheel, I'm guessing it's something like that. I highly doubt that Subaru is outsourcing their hub/wheel design work to Toyota. It's just **** that occasionally happens in designing and manufacturing complex machines. |
