Is this legal for STS??
Hey, I think this mod would be legal for STX, but not STS.-> Can someone tell me if upgrading my brakes to wrx brakes would be legal for STS? Basically I would just get the larger rotors and brackets for my same calipers and upgraded pads, lines and fluid.
Anyone know? THANKS!! -justin

Well....I want better brakes for daily driving, yet I want to keep it legal for STS . Im not the type of person to keep a mod secret, im too honest...
Thanks for the input...looks like pads and ss lines only . -justin |

bigger rotors are pretty easy to spot
you can get slotted ones. wont really help in an autox though. the lines and pads will help along with solid tires...dont forgot to bleed your brakes. i went on a mountain cruise and at the charlotte autox i was having to double pump my brakes...doh! |

Are you going to be running nationally?
Are you kicking a$$ at the local level? If No then I wouldnt worry about it, just ask your current competitors if its ok, usually will be unless you start kicking their a$$. |

bigger rotors won't help that much in auto-x anyway... they're more beneficial for track use and the heat disapation... better pads and the ss lines will do a whole lot more than the rotors.. plus cost way less.

So by increasing my rotor size all I would gain is better heat dissapation? Why wouldnt my braking zone ft get shorter?? -justin |

Because youre not changing the clamping pressure of the brakes at all, only their ability to dissapate heat. At an autox there is not enough heat to get pad fade. IMHO.

Well I dunno...I have driven a wrx quite alot (friends car) and it seems like his car has better braking response (slowing down faster) than my car when his brakes were stock.
It dont matter though cuz it is illegal for STS and if it really wont help much why bother? I dont road race so . -justin |

try some good pads! Good pads will require less line pressure in order to generate enough friction to stop the car.
