this video is in the latest best motoring dvd... because of the porsche claims that the gtr was using racing slicks, the dvd shows how they prepared the car in order to achieve the 7min26sec lap.
i dont think porsche can say anything anymore. |

I can honestly say, that car does seem to be unbelievably fast.
And by that, it looks and sounds SOOOO easy to drive that damn fast! |

Spooky fast, but man -- that's a bunch of understeer.
Almost looks like Nissan chose gear ratios in the GT-R that would perfectly match the 'ring... |

I don't know. It's obvious the tires are pissed off but the driver seems to be hitting the lines he wants just fine. There are a few moments where the tires are screaming thru a turn and the driver keeps accelerating. I guess what I'm saying is if it's pushing, it's not very obvious.
The car changes gears ridicously quick |

Even if the buyers don't give a damn its still pretty impressive.
It will be interesting to see the storm Porsche may try to throw though. |

It's bonkers how much difference there is between someone like Suzuki driving and any other "expert".
Not dissing on the car in the slightest, but I saw an article in Car Magazine earlier today (killing time at Barnes & Noble while the fiance was book-hunting), and Suzuki's 7:27 (how the mag reported it) was followed shortly after by a "local expert" with 14k+ laps who couldn't crack 7:50 (a local expert who wasn't very familiar with driving AWD or RHD cars, lawl). That's a pretty damn big delta, but I guess it just goes to show the difference in driving technique needed to really wring out a car with a ludicrously complex AWD system Nissan was adamant the only things done to the car were fitting the V-Spec wheels (available option for regular GT-Rs), the now-standard Dunlops, and the manual-recommended alignment and suspension tweaks for a car seeing heavy track use. I tend to believe them if only because of the backlash that would follow if they were outed in a lie after all their bragging. |

It's like someone came over to your backyard, just to do your wife, over and over, then left her more satisfied than before. Porsche gets my sentiment of pity.

Some understeer is always faster on a track especially at the ring. Totally agree with the almost perfect gear ratio, as if they were tuning it in Gran Turismo.

This car continues to set standards. I can't wait to see what they come up with in the R36.

I'd take a GT3 over it anyday. But that's just me. I could care less which is faster on the ring.
