Default Seeing yourself and hearing yourself on camera

Well I am part of a case study for a rather large software company and their new backup software.

Part of it is a written case study on how the new software has improved backup times, etc... The other part was a professional video that was shot which will then be converted to a web-cast.

I got to see a draft of the video today, and boy it's true. TV does add some 15lbs to you! And my voice, It sounds funny, to me.

And man I'm such a geek in the video. I even snorted once too about a minute into it.

I must say though, that some aspects about seeing yourself and hearing yourself, is just plain uncomfortable.

You sound different to yourself in a recording, because you hear the sound of your own voice as mostly direct resonance of the inner ear.

Whereas people around you, and recording equipment, pick up the sound waves as they move through air.

And snorting is pretty damn hillarious...

I'm in IT. I run a small 30 server farm of Windows servers, as well as manage a few helpdesk guys.

Snorting is part of the job. But I didn't think it would come out in public as it did in the webcast.

Some people shine in front of a camera...I am the complete opposite of these people.

Did the recording pick up any laughing in the background by your IT guys?

Nah we were in a closed board room. Other shots of the server room, or shots walking in the hallway, had other voiceovers or music

So basically, I don't know my own voice? That's great, because I sound like a complete ****tard on my voicemail as well as the car videos I made.
