Default "Hot Deals" sub section proposal...

Hi all,

I wanted to put this out there and see what people might have to say..

On another forum of mine we have a "Hot Deals" sub-section...

This gives a place for people to share some of the cool things they find while surfing...

For instance, right now on Crutchfield. c o m, there is a JVC (KD-S100 i believe, front USB and SD ports..ect.) that is closing out for 130$... list is over 600 (or so they say)

Or how about a Powerbass 5ch for 170? (millionbuy ASA-1100.5) not the greatest amp in the world, but to the right people, it's a decent deal for a decent amp (from what i'm reading)

Both, would be a perfect addition to a hot deals section...

This section would NOT be for vendors selling wears... This would be for us to share some good buys..

Now, one major issue I see would be people linking Ebay auction of themselves and/or family/friends... so that would be a key discussion point.. Maybe no Ebay/CL links...???

Discuss..

Stank.

You have my blessing

There is no reason for a new 'section' for such a thing, this thread should work fine. We'll see where it goes....

The biggest issue I se with it is people offloading there jizunk here .... thoughts?

On the other forum, you aren't allowed to post your OWN auction stuff...

Buyer beware...???

Hot Deals for all Parts would be good, not just for Audio.

It would be, agreed, but controlling it is a problem, i'm worried what may happen here... IF it works, maybe it can be proposed in other sections, or possibly a whole hot deals section, broken into subsections... Who knows.. it' could be big..!!!

As for eBay and Craigslist... I think that's fine. The majority of online dealers aren't legit authorized dealers anyways, so if THEY are allowed, so then too should be CL/eBay listings.

And no, plugging your own FS crap is as against the rules here as it is anywhere else on the forum. When someone has their own thread looking for something and someone happens to be selling that particular item, that's fine. This is different.

The tough part I see with this whole thing is that, as mentioned, only a few online dealers are actual legitimate vendors for a particular product, and they don't HAVE to tell you on the site. Some of us here who are dealers or have been know a bit about how to tell legitimacy by pricing, so it would be welcomed, even suggested, that if you know a link is to an authorized or unauthorized dealer when you post it, that you clarify.

I just hate promoting products because they are cheaper, when all the jackasses do is unload pallets and ship stuff back out, copying and pasting specs and having no clue what they're selling. But on the flip-side, deals is deals, and I understand that too.
