What about front spoilers and side skirts? DO you know if that was ever a mod for this car.
Definately looking like a great hopeful final product. Love all the black accents. Flat black wheels would fit the bill Ithink. |

There were never any aftermarket or OEM front spoilers or sideskirts for this car that I've found.

Alright, here are some ideas for exhaust setups i've had...
#1 is a dual setup, side exit exhaust... Probably would be hard to do and might look ugly, but it was an idea none the less. #2 is what i'm leaning the most towards at this point, using a X over muffler with the dual setup exhaust going along both sides of the car keeping it a true "dual" exhaust still. #3 is using a 4-1 collector going into a 2" pipe and straight back to a regular muffler, the headers would be complicated with this setup but the rest would be very simple. #4 has headers based on the FF-1 1300G Sports exhaust, which apparently has the front and rear ports seperate instead of each side seperate... Don't know why, but they got 95hp out of that setup so there might be a reason for it. Let me know if you have any other ideas, I can post the templete I used for these pictures if anyone wants to have fun And no, this exhaust doesnt need a catalytic converter so feel free to leave it out |

Nice project!
To answer the thought you had on Exhaust # 4, they would have done this because of the Firing order and the pulse of the exhaust through the manifold. They made it that way that it does not allow exhaust gases from one cyinder firing to impede the flow/run at the same time through the same section of pipeas a cylinder ahead of it in the firing order. I hope the way I worded that makes sense. I would actually do #3 or #4, but you could also do #2, but with the Manifold area setup like that of #4. They found something in that manifold setup, or they would not have been making it that way. I would imagine the exhaust pulse is the reason for them doing this though. So really, the 4-1 collector is still probably the best performance wise. Heres a diagram of the normal ff-1 exhaust versus the ff-1 "sport" for reference: |

I'd go with 4. It has that OEM feeling.

Day 9:
I spent most of today removing the "sound deadening material" from the driver and passagner footwell... MAN thats some tough work! But I did get most of it off, but theres a bit more that will need to come out once the whole dash is removed. You can also see how bad the rust is on the floorboard in some places... I also removed a couple of metal clips and wrap things that were in the driver/passanger wells that were not being used or won't be used (plus, those metal clips welded into the chassis will be a pain in the ass when the car gets repainted! Might as well eliminate them) As you can see, I also removed the seats... The driver seat I kept around just in case, but the passager one (other than the rails) is in the trash. I ran the car for the whole day too, trying to burn off as much gas as possible. The oil pan is leaking as is the oil temp sensor and the water pump ever so slightly, but thats not a big deal really as I plan on rebuilding all that anyhow. The engine did run good the whole time though, no problems that I saw/heard which is awesome. Anyway, here are the photos from today... Some interesting things to look at too, including the neat manual vents, and the VERY nice chromed e-brake and the odd shifter: |

Seriously, exhaust 4 all the way. There's a reason twin scroll manifolds look the way they do.
I'm glad you have this car, after reading some of the posts in this thread. I think you'll do right by it. GL man, if I was in your area, I'd definitely offer up my help. |

I'm still shocked at how simple that car is.
Unfortunatly, my girlfriend can't see me driving one. That's gotta mean something. For the exhaust, are you going just for power, or have you thought about keeping the exhaust manifold unequal-length to keep a bit of a burble? As far as the interior goes and apparent lack of OEM parts available, I think that the stripped out route would be pretty cool. A cage would probably do it wonders too. |

Would you be able to relocate battery towards back of engine bay for better weight distribution?
I like the Peugeot wheels, it reminds me of an old Alfa: Last edited by FujiHeavyFreak; 10-29-2007 at 12:14 AM. |

Exhaust routing 3! I would say, get the rims that the Datsun 510 runs with, black spokes with a silver/polished lip!

I will have to go with a smaller-size battery, but thats ok, theres a perfect sized Odyssey battery and billet mount for that location: Last edited by Kostamojen; 10-29-2007 at 02:12 AM. |

So... 6-point cage, or a 4-point cage and some extra body supports?

6-point with a trunk brace, and some bracing in the engine bay.

Engine bay is plenty braced. Trunk doesnt need bracing, it doesnt do anything
