Default Mating DP to CB question

Hey, just bought a used megan dp that has the flange facing the catback with an inch long pipe welded to it. Having taken my stock dp off already i notced the downpipe catback connection is like a dounut type thing (on my 75k mile car the thing is corroded out) with spring bolts. Will this work witht he standard megan flange? Arnt these pipes designed to fit with the stock catback?

I bought some hi temp copper gasket sealer, and as of now id like to avoid welding it, any advice?

edit: not planning to try to make it wrk with short pipe welded in it, prob gunna saw it off

If you can use two or three 3" gaskets to get it to seal.

So basically go to the local auto store and get three 3" exhaust gaskets to make the seal?

i bought it off a guy with an 03, should work with the 02 as well tho......it wont slide on the bolts on the turbo, almost like the angle in the bend is a bit to small to give the right connection

How does one go about bending a pipe like this, blow torch?

I wouldn't do that... It sounds like you're having the same problem I did when I was putting mine on (I have the Megan too), they were too long so I just trimmed em down until it would go on.

What did you cut? the bolts on the turbo? im assuming you put the nuts on the bolts before you did any trimming to get a clean thread

didnt think anyone could have a problem with that ... u might need leverage from underneathe(sp) unless the dp is hitting the firewall which it shouldnt. my friend had one and he had no problems
