At the Track Insurance companies that cover HPDE?

Anyone know of a national insurance company that still covers HPDE's or similar track day events? I took about 2years off of racing so please let me know if any company came back to insure this instead of having to purchase separate insurance for each track day (from whoever was hosting the event). I know back in the day most insurance companies used to cover track days as long as they were not "timed events." Those were the days...

State Farm does. Not sure if they're available in your state though.

State Farm- cool thanks. I'll check that out

Wrx brakes- I bet you have all sorts of pads for me. Sadly that car has never seen a track day and you will think I'm crazy for wanting to go back to a WRX. Haha!

You may (or may not) also want to discretely look for a carrier who will cover you under an umbrella liability policy, if you already have one. I went through a year finding one.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I check the wording in my policy and the exclusion is very broadly worded.

i'm curious what the insurance policy for? Is it for yourself and the car? Or is it for the other people in the accident? their car? or the driver? i'm not asking specific questions that i would have to ask my insurance company. i'm just curious why people purchase these for hpde days.

I was told that they did for the event coming up at Willow Springs. It might be specific to the organizer. Not sure.

Policies can vary by state, so you still pretty much have to read up on the terms outlined before you know if you are covered.

Typically for your own car (and it might include medical payments). Pretty much any damage to your car comes out of your own pocket, unless someone with lots of money hit you and offers to pay for it, but there is no requirement for that.

In terms of health related insurance, I know NASA has something crazy like a 1MM policy if you get hurt on track. It's one of the reasons they are slightly more expensive than other clubs.

Just something to think about.

What if I hit someone else? These are the only reasons I would be scared for track days. That's why I kept it autox only

Each state will have their own laws. I was hit on track at an HPDE last year in Ohio. Everyone is responsible for themselves. You accept all risk of damage and injury and so do the others on the track. So, there is no recourse of any kind for any one regardless of "fault". I had to eat $21K loss on my 2012 Boss 302 because a 20-something did not prepare his Cobalt SS properly for the track and did not know what "brake fade" was and boiled off his brake fluid.
My Bad, I should have had Track insurance! All State would not cover anything per the exclusion in my policy.
