If you need a large SUV, the Dodge Sprinter is the only real choice.
There is one that I see around here occasionally. ****ing huge soccermommobile.

Sprinter, as in the Mercedes-built huge delivery van? Psst: That's not an SUV by any definition I know, just as the Nissan NV isn't.

Sprinters are available in people carrier guise. Its just a van, it probably weighs less, has better mpg's and more room as an 11 passenger vehicle than an Excursion.

I've already started eyeing what I want. I do not need 4WD, but I tow a small trailer and ATV out to the hunting club, and the wife and I have talked about a boat in the future, or at least another ATV for her. I'm thinking Tahoe (09+), or 08+ Sequoia. If money were no object, I'd be looking at LX470s, and Land Cruisers - but the gas mileage on those is abysmal. The 09+ Tahoes have the cylinder deactivation at cruising speed, and get decent mileage - actually, BETTER mileage than my Pathfinder, which manages 15. Sometimes. I love everything about the new Pilots except that I never ever ever see a man driving one. We live in the heart of soccer mom-ville, and Pilots seem to be the #1 choice of moms. So, I'm subscribing to see what you come up with. And maybe, in a year or two, post what I bought |

GF has a 09 Denali and I love driving it. 2nd row buckets make access to 3rd row much easier. Also, I think i saw where you said you would put the baby seat in the 3rd row, everything I have read is that baby stays in middle row and close to mom. Also much easier for kids to access third row than adults.
Her rig has like 45K miles, no real issues. Couple little things (fan motor, rear defrost wiring). My sister in law has an 08 with around 120K and has not had any issues. GF and I test drove a new Lexus ct200h yesterday. She drives a ton of miles and the 40mph would sure be nice compared to the 14 she gets in her Denali. Will probably sell my tundra and get the Lexus, and then I get the Denali. |

^^your Denali only goes 14mph? I guess that's a step up from the ecoboost F-150s that go only 12mph
In the old days, the "free candy" vans were the norm for mass people haulage. Sure, its a land yacht, but it gets the job done. |

We own a 2012 SL. just didnt see the $5k upcharge for HIDS and Nav worth it. SL gets all the goodies including rear seat dvd, just no nav (but has backup camera and huge screen) no HID, and no button-powered fold downrear seat. We paid $32k for a $40500 stickered Quest...she wanted bose and moonroof(s), but a less equipped model can be had for under $29k. They are a steal compared to the competition, and they feel like an infiniti inside. |

The thing about Sprinters is they use the space very well. They aren't too wide either. They fit on British roads which are about as wide as a toothpick with the wood shaved off.

the 08 was the first gen nissan built unit, in 2011 they changed them, its a completely different vehicle, i agree the first gen had alot to be desired, but i think they learned alot from them too. remember, before that model - they had a rebranded mercury villager.
