Please recommend a good summer tire for commuting
Hey guys. I live in Los Angeles and I have a 25 mile commute on crappy/noisy freeways. My RE070s are just about bald.
I'm looking for a replacement set, that offers decent traction (I won't be tracking these) but with an emphasis on comfort, i.e. NVH. I live in L.A. and I don't snowboard so I don't need all seasons. Please recommend a decent summer tire that offers low noise and good comfort. Thanks!

Eagle F1 GS-D3. Decent grip, unbeatable in rain, and softer sidewalls to soak up highway bumps.

Although, LA doesn't get much rain. I'd say the f1gsd3's are perfectly suited for norcal where we actually get rain as well. Aren't the Bridgestone RE01R's good for what the OP wants? The RE01R's don't have that hard sidewalls IIRC. Better dry traction for smoggy/dry LA. |

Falken FK452 -- all the goodness of the F1 (almost as good in the wet) without the $$.

Please keep the recommendations coming. I'd say low noise is more important to me then a softer ride. |

If cost is no issue, the best tire I've even owned that matches your requirements is the Michelin Pilot Sport 2. Very quiet, fairly comfortable, and outstanding grip. |

I find the RE01R's to be quiet, smooth, and sticky.

im running falken's st-115 in a 255/40/17, they are a summer tire made for audio enthusiasts...very quiet and comfy. Not a track tire by any means but still have good grip and feedback. I think I got my set of four for $450shipped, im happy with em.
