Default 245 40 17 on 17x8 on 05 sedan

help on this would be appreciated everything goes on tonight and i havent got the fenders rolled yet im running a 48 mm offset will it rub i went with sumitumo htrz II's thanks for the help>

i would be very surprised if there wasn't some rubbing. The more drop you've got the more rub you'll get. Fender roll is absolute necessary.

i run 245/40/17 michelin ps2 on 17x8 et 48 wheels, no rubbing at all, none on street with 4 ppl in the car and none while doing autox and track days.

17x8 245/40/17 et48 on an '04.

'05 has even more clearance.

any confirmation on this?

i called my local dealership, they told me fenderwell's for WRX and STi have the same part #?

leads me to believe it's got the same clearance?

(also looking to see if 245/40/17's will fit on my 05, seeing as i'm trying to get some Rota Slipstreams in 17x8.5)

Perhaps this thread will help with your '05 question.

A 245-40-17 has a diameter of 24.7", versus the stock (for the STi) diameter of 25.0", so it's going to effect your speedo a little (will be 1% too fast compared to 225-45-17) as well as your effective gearing. If the wheel wells and suspension geometry are indeed the same on the WRX and STi, then the 245-40-17 should fit with the appropriate offset in a 17x8.5.
