OH SNAP!

although - i gotta admit it didn't seem rude to me, we all joke around with silly pics on here. standard protocol. obviously he didn't think the OP would actually consider doing that paint job.

the key thing about the above pic was that they painted the actual tire sidewall. pointing out an obvious mistake to avoid. make sure you dont paint that sidewall! if you ever drive the car, it will ruin the paint on the tires.

Currently have 7 cars/trucks. 3 have all-over paintjobs - 1 stripped down to bare metal, zinc chromated and resprayed in show quality and has won carshows, 1 custom including the interior w/ Shelby and rockerstripes and 1 just a basic all-over to change color while doing other bodymods. Each I painted engine compartment separately w/ drivetrain removed. None have ever been WRB, silver or black.

You still didn't answer my ?s.

Nutwagon, disregard the cash flow coming out of his ass. Or the fact that his job is to paint cars for a living. I know that anyone that gets a paint job will do a thorough job n have it done professionally. Keep ur wagon that u paid 5k for with more money in mods than that n get a nice paint job. N dont overspray those wheels lol

Mercedes to me even make ugly maroon colors look good. I can't tell if the car makes the paint in this situation or the paint makes the car.

But ya this thread is entertaining

Taking a traditional American Muscle color and putting on a Japanese car is like swapping an LS series engine into the WRX...why?

I've seen quite a few black wagons with the red trimmed rims that look really amazing. Especially with the STi scoop

Default Woody! Boing!

Orange looks like a pumpkin on a wagon! Only thing that saves it is the blue graphics which would yell 'stupid poser' on a streetcar.

And any flat black or platinum ala AMG series paint on a Subaru is just going to look like you could only afford the primer and not any paint unless you can pull it off w/ lots of real and well thought out (not PepBoys) carbon fiber accents. Not cheap, lots more investment installing it and begins to look crappy in a couple years.

You have a station wagon for christ sakes. Embrace its tradition.

Woodies are chick magnets.

Or, leave the silver and get wrap or vinyl cut to simulate battleship camouflage.

Or this:

or this:

Any of which you can do w/o removing/painting your engine compartment, some jambs and underside of hood because they'll match the silver.

If your paint quality is still good, wraps or vinyl is less mess, less $, can do more extreme patterns, much less time in the shop, ....Doing an all over respray is a big investment mod that does little to increase value of vehicle and if you wreak it, you can't uninstall and part out or use on new build.

vinyl wrapping is a good option
But definitely stay away from any military paint schemes cuz anything that has to do with that is gay.
