Default Boost leak or its fine?

Recently returned to stock, and flashed cobb stage 0.

Peak boost 13psi.

Did a 2nd gear wot log, target boost not being met, get like 2psi when its targeting 10, get 6 when its targeting 16. Only towards 4k rpm im starting to get some real boost but its still short of target.

Is target boost what it should be at that moment or where its trying to get to?? Also my dam is .688 being a stock tune and all, could that be the culprit?

I was under the impression that "real" boost should closely resemble the target at all times? And if not there is a problem?

also it needs a new turbo to j pipe gasket.

Im like 95% sure there is no leak other than the old j pipe gasket cuz i messed with this car enough times and never had a problem assembling stuff

Please advise

I don't know what you're referring with J Pipe, I'm guessing cold side out of the turbo? If so yes, that would cause a problem. Up pipe will cause low boost in the way of an exhaust leak but the downpipe leak will not cause low boost.

If you inspect all your hoses I'll bet you find a leak going into or out of your intercooler, basically inspect all connections from the turbo cold side to the throttle body.

do you have log of this? also depending on when you go WOT you will have more or less boost (going wot at 4k rpm vs 2k rpm the peak boost will be noticeably lower)

what are your af correction and learning numbers as a boost leak you should see a severe negative correction when in boost, and usually positive if the leak is between turbo and intake manifold during vacuum

something to also check is the turbo fins on the turbo as ive seen several posts on various platforms of those being chipped and damaged and that would cause lower than usual boost

also when you returned to stock did you replace the restrictor pill in the boost control lines if you removed that if you had an aftermarket jpipe?

Thanks, wot log here. https://datazap.me/u/basyager/wotpul...&data=11-38-47 boost vs target boost seems off...very big difference between the two.

Googled the pill thing, found this pic

think my plumbing is a bit off, so I'm off to do what I do best. Spend half a day under the car to get absolutely nothing done bond with the car.. jk, gonna switch up the hoses to the right places, that restrictor thing is in the wrong place right now.

actually I only had the 3 port ebcs and the tune from the "phatbotti" guy is what made all the difference. But now he stopped tuning cuz I guess theres just no money in the platform anymore.

glad that worked

on side note have you heard from phatbotti about why he stopped tuning or did you hear that theres no money in it in another thread. been curious as to what happened as he sort of fell off the earth shortly after saying he went into the hospital.

How were the lines messed up? When getting etuned my tuner ran into an issue and said this "it's peaking at most around 21.5psi but then tapers off to 16ish" ... "with your setup we should be able to hit and hold 25psi"

Sorry, late, Well, the restrictor thingy needs to be in the line coming from the housing otherwise it opens the wastegate too much... and I had a different line connected there..

wastegate was open was it wasn't spinning the turbo properly... I was only able to get 12psi at 4k+ rpm. i dont think thats your issue though since you're getting a whole 21.

What is your boost getting to?
Did you try resetting the ecu since you tried that stuff already?
Unplug the negative terminal on your battery and pump brake pedal a few times.
