Well, we might be able to work out Co drives if that's what you mean? I already have a buddy Co driving, so I'm not sure how that would work with ESPL (is it typically same run groups?). PM me of you're interested.

Yeah, I don't run ladies class unless I have to, but thanks for asking. Indexed classes just aren't very much fun. Ask most anyone else at a Pro.... most everyone else is indexed nowadays, and they hate it, and it's actually keeping some people away from Pros.

This is what makes me sad - I'll be in the same boat with a car we (EDIT: my husband anyway) are FINALLY remotely competitive with at some local events. Hopefully they get enough letters and reconsider. I don't know how these things generally work.

I didn't get a chance to weigh them (no scale at the time). But I'll weigh them with the tires and subtract 27lbs.

The XXR's and 315s are a good bit heavier than the Mach V 18x9.5 and 285s.

This is just about right.

I have an 07 STI 6speed with 285's and top out 2nd at 66. I rev to 7800. Will be going to 315's and will gain a few MPH and top out at 68ish.

This pretty much removes any gearing advantage from others in ASP, but the weight is a killer. I'm at 3120 1/2 tank with all SP mods. Evo's are 2950.

the 5 speed would save some significant weight, but break.....

Well, Crows Landing was nothing short of awesome! I can't believe how much grip there is on concrete!

There were only four other competitors in ESP, all in Mustangs. I managed a 2nd place spot by 0.003 seconds. Not bad for my first National Tour.

The 315s were great, other than just a tiny bit of rub, but nothing concerning at all (I think a 3 or 5mm spacer in the rear and maybe the front will help stop that). I did have to dial out camber at the knuckles and add more at the plates. I raised front ride height to 14 1/4" and rear to 14 3/8" to be safe.

Slick ride and nice job. I wish I'd gone, but I just hate driving more than 10hrs. Coulda seen the parents in north bay too.

The 531's weigh 27 lbs for reference. I weighed mine before valve stems.

Damn, yeah they're defiantly not light. In all honesty, I didn't even feel a difference moving from my Wicked Awesome's (18lbs 18x9.5 285) and these.

Yeah, I plan on Packwood NT and Lincoln Nats. Not sure how I'll do at the Nats, but I really would like to experience it while I can in ESP.

If you do back to back testing on the same day you can notice a small difference in straight line speed, but the grip from the 315's more than compensates for any deficiencies.

Skip Packwood if that's what it takes to do Nats. It's worth it.

LA region runs a transport which doesn't really help you but that's the best deal I've ever seen for transporting a car to nationals. $1200 there and back then your flight. It is really the easy button, same cost as towing with your own rig. Less days off work and on the road.

Rentals ain't cheap. RV or Uhaul pickups. You'll be in ~ $2500 before gas if you can find a trailer for free.

I'll be driving 30mpg @ 80 MPH I wouldn't be able to do it otherwise!

I took the SCCA sticker off the lip and the paint came off with it I'll just repaint when the flares are finally done.

I just replaced a wheel bearing this week. Yes that is the first wheel bearing I've had to do in an 8 year old car that has been autocrossed for the last 5 years on big sticky tires.

I suspect the 5x100 hubs are not nearly as fragile as people on the internet think they are. I further suspect people in real life are not as careful as they think they are and hit more curbs then they will admit to on the internet.

Apparently I did something awful in a previous life and karma decided it was payback time. That is the only reason why I can think of that it decided to go bad in July when the average temperature in the my garage after the sun goes down is 110 degrees. Instead of say January when it is 70 degrees.

I'm checking mine continuously. *crosses fingers* I've been told to continuously check the axle nut as that can prematurely wear bearings.



Speaking of big wheels and tires, so the 315s only rub the seam sealer on the body and the trailing arms in the rear, but only slightly... but I suspect that is happening due to me running them down to 26psi front, 21psi rear (see picture for sidewall flex):





Quick question, does anybody have any idea if you can start to run less camber the wider tire you go? I know our cars need lots of camber for even tire wear, but all my pictures show the front tires only contacting about 3/4 tread while corning most of the time.

I did my fronts last week, before Toledo. Not the first... nor second, nor third time, though I've replaced them less frequently since I switched to the hardened ones Steven Rankins sells via 42Autosports.

Of course, I drive my car on the street, too.

That seems like pretty low tire pressure. I run mid 30s on the 17s and will be going to high 30s on the next set of 18s after killing the outside of the shoulder about 30 runs prematurely.

I theory you need more camber as the tire size increases. More tire = more grip = more weight transfer = more suspension travel = need more static camber, or something like that.

At least in that picture you are using all the tire and some side wall too! More tire pressure and more camber look like the ticket, not the opposite.
