I'm starting to get excited too. I think I'm one wheel bearing away from being ready to go. However not looking forward to having the same conversation over and over next week.
Coworker: Oh, you are gone next week? Where are you going? Me: Nebraska. Coworker: huh? <confused look> Do you have family there? Me: No. Coworker: oh <even more confused look>, well have fun! <fakes enthusiasm> Me: Thanks, I will! <genuine enthusiasm>

After the preservice week from hell, and my new department chair position, I need some time off.
But I never, ever, look forward to creating sub plans for three days straight. Ugh. |

No ruling on the WRX in ESP in October's Fastrack... http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...rack-oct_1.pdf I also noticed the date that changes take effect (unless otherwise noted) changed to 01/01/16. Does that mean we're going to hang in ESP for another year at the least?

Good question, I would assume that's what that means... but we'll see.

Meh. Everyone's bailing on ESP anyway. Pat and Adam are going to CP, Ogburn's selling his car too.

I sent in an email. Here's the response:
"The SEB has decided that they want the Subaru and AWD's moved to ASP. However, they are not the final decision. The Board of Directors will make the final call. That decision will be made at their October meeting which is the last weekend of that month. The November FasTrack will show all of the rules changes that the BOD approved for 2015." Love that the exodus happens after the crybabies (likely) get their way. |

Someone help me out with this, because it's not transparent enough.
The ESP -> ASP move has, per all Fastracks out, not been "Recommended to the BOD" it has only been in the "Change Proposals" section. In fact it hasn't been mentioned since the June '14 Fastrack. Am I to believe that they would send it off to the BOD without member notice, or publish the recommendation in the same Fastrack where it gets decided on by the BOD? |

Anything requested for comment (the point the membership is served notice) leads me to believe it will make it's way to the BOD eventually. Mental note...buy new magnets! |

So, what's your plan Greg... ASP or FP?
I'll probably stick in whichever *SP class they put me in for next year... use up the tires I have. After that, not sure. Love my car, but a cheaper car/class sounds just as fun (e.g. Miata) |

I'm thinking about it... sounds like fun, but a Miata sounds cheaper.

What a load of BS...
and it's even being recommended to take affect for 2015. http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...-Nov%201-3.pdf |

Time to buy a turbo!
Anyone else contemplating a jump to SM or FP instead of jumping the subaru ship or going to ASP? Last edited by Hold_Fast; 10-20-2014 at 06:34 PM. |

Thread merge !1!1111!!!!
I'll try ASP for one year before moving the WRX to SM. While concurrently building the 2 door car for FP. I have a feeling once I drive the FP car I will no longer be interested in SP/SM though... |

I know Greg disagrees, but I don't see a point in starting with a WRX in ASP or SM. The only things the WRX has that're better than the STi are the gearing and the transmission weight. The STi has a better turbo, better stock brakes, better hubs/bearings, etc. It was a good ride while it lasted. |

I think Jay Storm is the "prepared" thread! I don't agree or disagree, Karen. I just say eff it let's see what happens and drink some beer along the way. |

So.... why'd they leave one of the DSM cars in ESP? Eclipse and Talon left, but Laser is still around...

If FP allowed aero I'd come join you eventually. Sadly, I'm hooked on the downforce drug, and drugs are good.
I find it incredibly amusing that you can build a full interior Impreza to be at minimum weight in a prepared class. |

Well I'll be damned. I guess I have just never seen one before, and I have a few friends that are DSM addicts. You learn something new every day - thanks!

You guys did notice that a subie won ASP this year right?
I'm stuggling to understand why most of you would rather sell your cars for a loss or spend a **** ton of money on an SM build instead of buying a used turbo and coming to ASP. Greg has already shown that the wrx is ASP worthy without any changes. I'm worried that the spac gave you guys too much to be honest. The sky is not falling. |
