Default 2011 WRX Hatch DS Swaybar

Many people are saying the swaybar change you are allowed in DS class must be the front swaybar. I've read the rules a couple times and have not seen this specified. Can someone point me to where this is stated?

That being said, I have a 2011 WRX hatch. Is having the larger front swaybar better then having the larger rear swaybar? What is the largest diameter you can comfortably go in the front? I live in SC and we have lots of pot holes.

The rules used to be "only the front swaybar" can be changed.. this was revised to "either swaybar" a couple years ago (when Stock became Street and went from R-comps to 200TW tires).

I'll let someone else with GD experience in Stock/Street chime in on the choices available.

Edit:
Yeah, GR... I've got a GD. lol

You mean GR?

I'd go with the biggest bar I can get in the rear. I ran GS with a 22mm rear set to the stiffest setting. I don't think a 24 would have hurt. I just happened to find a deal on the 22.

A rear bar will cause you to 3 wheel when turning, real bad for handling in subarus.

Ive been looking around and have 2 questions if anyone would be kind enough to help me with an answer.

Does Prepared allow for ecu retuning?
Does Prepared allow aftermarket engine and drive train mounts?

Im trying to find out what class I fit into.

Prepared allows both of those, as does SM and SP.

As long as they aren't solid, don't contain more metal than stock, and weigh the same, then yes mounts are legal in ST

And most forms of tuning are legal in ST too

Yes, BUT most tunes increase boost and waste gate duty cycles. Both of which are illegal IN STU.

Thanks for the answers.
There is definitely a higher metal to rubber ratio for my mounts than the stock ones. Im using Cusco mounts http://www.rallysportdirect.com/fits...smission-mount .
I run significantly more boost than stock ~20psi vs 13.5 at WoT

Ok, don't ignore him but don't jump to SM without thought and a large parts budget

You might still fit in SP. Both boost and the mounts are legal there. What else do you have?

Mounts aren't legal because the metal/rubber rule still applies there. If he fit in SP I'd have said so

He's to far north to really be cannon fodder for me, but there are others in the area that could need class filler. Plus, we all started as class filler somewhere.

I was even being nice about the welcome and didn't poke any fun

Wait, did they change the mount rules for SP? Solids used to be legal...

Edit:
15.10.J Engine and transmission mounts may be changed as long as it doesn't change the position. (Paraphrase)

OR am I misreading it?

The mounts would be legal in ST as well as long as they weigh at least as much as the OEM mounts and do not relocated the motor or trans.

I think you are confused with the bushing wording with the metal to rubber ratio. Engine and trans mounts are a separate line.

There's things in there that push you to SM anyway like the CF driveshaft and bigger hood scoop. You'll be fine in SM locally most likely anyway since most people end up there for little things like that.

The current normal recipe for an SM car is 18x11's with 315's, a real wing, a real splitter, lots of light weighting, 400+ whp, clutch pack diffs front and rear (assuming AWD), ZZYZX (Koni), MCS, JRZ, or the like for shocks, home made suspension bits otherwise, etc.

Where you are you should see Panda (240SX) from time to time if you travel. That car has won the last 3 years in a row at Nats in SM and should give you an idea of the speed required (down the road) to be competitive.

At this point just show up and have fun. Learn to drive, get people to instruct you, and come out to bigger events if you can. Introduce yourself and have a blast

I just want to have fun. Im aware that this pushes me into a category where theres a lot of much bigger fish. But I love the way the car is now and feel like after 2 years its ready.

can I just google panda 240sx to get an idea?
