Default Really Basic UTEC stuff. A little Help Please.

Hey ive been searching the utec tuning section for a while and ive come across a few good, articles, .pdf files on how to actually tune the UTEC which is great but from what ive seen this section is lacking the step before...(correct me if im wrong tho)

I bought a used UTEC and i want to install it. But i guess i dont want to use it yet. i could go stage 1 i guess but im still waiting on a few parts before i go stage 2.

So my questions are.

1. What do i need to do (software, loading, unloading maps, ect) before i physicall install the utec.

2. Can i have the utec installed but use my stock subaru map? and how would i go about doing this.

If theres already any write ups on this that would be great

thanks guys!

Its pretty easy. All you need is hyperterminal, which comes on windows except for vista. but you can still download it if you are running vista. And yup you sure can run stock ecu. just set the red wheel on the back to 0 and it runs stock ecu. Let me know if you have any more questions.
