For anyone who's done any tuning the course is kind of silly but I guess I got lucky as when I got an AP with a vehicle I purchased the software course had all gotten in place.
Im not a huge fan of the device or needing to use it but almost every major tuning company has some kind of device that you need to use to flash. To me the real-time tuning is worth it's weight in gold... And I didn't have to pay $400 for self tuning like I did with my Ford through SCT... And they require in person training to the tune of thousands to unlock most of the more advanced tables. The only thing I'd like is some more advanced logging features. SCT and HP tuners logging software has lots of cool logging and sorting and table creation features built into their logging software. Does all that stuff that people spend hours with excel figuring out. Now if I could just get Cobb to work with AIM sports so I could display fuel pressure and ethanol content on my dash... |

I used to think highly of Cobb until today when I found out about the $150 fee. I am in need of deleting tgv codes and now I need to pay for the program that allows me to do that. Such horse ****. ***128405; |

After a few hours of reading and software installing/uninstalling, I come to realize maybe the open source route is easier to delete my annoying "Secondary Air" DTCs.
I've noticed a few of you members are fairly active/knowledgeable (I'm new to NASIOC but not to cars and forums) and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck either: 1- Finding a working version of Accesstuner for the AP V3 on Windows 10 2- Using EcuFlash to delete the DTCs Has anyone been successful with 1 or 2? Thanks, Tony |

2 - Never used ECU flash but the 2 are incompatible so not sure why you would want to do that without spending a lot of time transferring your tune between the 2 as well as one uses the accessport for flashing and the other uses the tactrix cable so again even the flashing device is incompatible. It's very easy to do in accesstuner just go to edit -> Advanced Parameters and uncheck any DTCs you want. |

So once you take their course and jump through hoops they only give you software that works with one particular application? How does that work exactly?
If you have an old copy of ATR, will it still work with the AP? |

If you have an old copy of ATR, I believe that will still work, but you don't get all the cool new features of the newer versions of AccessTuner like FlexFuel. |

The ATR downloads, old or new, are serial # specific to one particular accessport, as well as being assigned to one particular make and model. Yes, if you have a same year car, you can install that particular ATR copy using your married AP that registers as a "2011 WRX STI", shoot, it will even let you move maps to the AP, but when flash time comes, they are greyed out and unavailable due to different serials. That seems to be the common theme people are missing is that all the serial numbers on each accessport are unique and different, therefore every single copy of ATR falls under the same catagory of being unique with its own serial, and COBB specifically made it this way. |

Sheesh....this is still going on........
1-I am NOT employed by COBB nor ever have been. 2-I was on their forum since about 2000 and use a lot of their parts. 3-I was around when "AcessECU" was cool (you sent in your ECU with a list of mods, they flashed it and sent back.....pre AcessPort.....). 4-Too many peeps blew engines by not understanding when using ATR. 5-Due to blown engines and a bad rap, COBB mandated you take a course on tuning before you could mess with maps and possibly blow things up. Basically, some users blew things up and blamed COBB. Sheesh, peeps now throw crap at a car, use the wrong map and blame COBB. Frankly, I don't blame COBB for their current stance. In my current business (really large UPS systems for data centers) peeps spend $20K+/system and ignore data. Then they get pissed when a center goes down. Dude, the hardware and software predicted the failure, you blew it off, of course you dropped the data floor. Shrug. |

What is the typical turnaround on the software after classes are completed? I finished the training yesterday and haven't received a download yet (Junk folders examined as well).
The classes aren't all that bad, the first portion of them are very high level coverage of systems you will need to know about, but the production value isn't bad at all. For $150 you get a decent amount of info if you are new to tuning, however I could see how it could be frustrating if you had already had experience with the old or other similar software and just needed to get your hands on an install file to replace the old lost ones. |
