I paid $695 for a FlashPro to tune my 2009 Civic Si. I paid $650 (500 for AP and 150 for Accesstuner) and took a simple on-line class to tune my WRX. EVERYBODY I know who has an AP has no intention of tuning their car and they don't even know AccessTuner exists. When I found out that I could tune my own WRX for an additional $150, I couldn't believe it. I'm familiar with the Cobb online store and fail to see why anyone would complain about anything. If you are not a pro tuner with a dyno and a shop, you should be happy you can even get AccessTuner, IMO. Hondata is an awesome platform for vehicle owners to tune their Honda for $695 and there is equally awesome platform for a Subaru owner to tune their car for a similar price. Yet on NASIOC, there is 31 page thread of people complaining. I don't get it.

Some of us had Accesstuner before this, it was considered part of the AP. Then Cobb stopped updating it and told us to pay for a class. That is why it's annoying to me at least.

Oh, okay, I get it now. I can see how that policy change would tick off AP users who have the background or knowledge to tune their car. But I can also see why Cobb did it (to cover liability). It is quite clear from Hondata forums that there are quite a few people tuning their Honda have no idea what they are doing. Cobb probably wanted to avoid the same thing (as best they could).

Does anyone know if the newer versions of ATR will open a map that uses cobb custom features?

I got my car re-tuned with speed density, but the tuner's map was made with the latest cobb pro software and my old versions of ATR can't open it to make edits.

I don't wanna pay the $140 if the newer ATR versions won't read the map either...

And yes, my map file is unlocked.

Thanks,

-- Dave

Yes, the latest ATR opens all unlocked maps, even with the Cobb Custom Features ECU type.

Do all versions of ATR lock custom tunes to the AP?

Reason I ask is I have ATR that is locked to my bricked ECU that is married to my AP.
MY custom tunes not done with ATR work on a newer ECU and another AP.
But I need my tune I did for echeck. Can anybody help me rework a map from cobb. Just need a few parameters switched differently. I have the unlocked map just can't change anything without locking to the bricked AP.
I'm working with V2

It's up the individual whether or not the tune is locked, ATR doesn't do it as a blanket. Cobb no longer offers support for the V2, so you might be sol on that one.

I understand V2 is not supported by Cobb. My version of ATR is from 2016. I can download a unlocked tune from Cobb. Make some adjustments but when I save the file it locks it a certain AP serial number. That AP is bricked. I have another AP different serial number I'm using.

How do I save or modify the tune and keep it unlock to a AP?
If somebody else could do it for me I would be very happy. I'm not afraid to pay.

So unfortunately new versions of ATR are AP specific, and since Cobb no longer supports the V2 I don't know if you will be able to download a new version that works with the V2. I don't think there is a way to change the serial ATR is locked to, but email Cobb support (if they're around) and see what they can do for you. Maybe they can change your old ATRs serial

Ok just what I thought then. ATR is AP specific all versions

So next question. Anybody able to change a few things for me on a standard canned Cobb tune. That is Unlocked not AP specific. Just need a few adjustments under the advanced settings. I can show my exact settings needed.

Have you tried installing ATR on a computer that has never had ATR installed before, and then plugging in your accessport?

Apparently the serial number gets stored in the registry of your computer when you first plug in your accessport and ATR "locks" to that serial number. You could also try finding the stored values in the registry and deleting them if you are computer savvy.

PM'd you...

ATR that I have is locked to my bricked AP. And no Cobb will not help. They stop support of V2 you know. Sorry just being sarcastic. Since I've heard that so many times but I'm sure they know how to fix it.

Yeah because Cobb advertises it for free. Just say it right from the get go and maybe tell us that we are gonna need this software

Does anyone know of a way to get an older version of access tuner? I have a V2 and in reading the update notes of accesstuner, it seemed as though they built in a downgrade feature for us V2 users as the newer versions of accesstuner only work with the V3. For whatever reason its not working for me. i have bought the class and downloaded accesstuner legitimately from their site.

From what they are telling me if you have a V2 and don't already have the old ATR, you are out of luck. How are you guys working around this? are you biting the bullet and going to a tuner and paying $$$?

Did you download ATR? once you have it and open your map, you can change the injector scaling/etc...

What issue are you having?

Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum and just signed up. I was googling how to get Accesstuner Race as I couldn't find it on the COBB website. I came to this forum which I do a lot when researching Subaru stuff. Does anyone have the older Accesstuner Race they can PM me? I noticed this was done in this thread for others. I just purchased a 2018 wrx sti limited and a COBB AP. I wanted to be able to check out the Accesstuner software and was disappointed when I saw it's behind a paywall for 150 bucks. Is there anyway to get the older Accesstuner Race software?
