Default Check in for trade in.

If the STi specs are around where we want them and the prices are competetive...

Who is trading in their WRX?

I'm keeping the WRX (way too much invested in it) and I'm going to buy an STi next winter.

I just want the engine and tranny. The car is a beaut, but I want a sleeper. The STi will be high-profile "steal me" material.

I put 12k down on my subie and it will be mine in three years. I would break about even trading it in but without a real down payment the monthly bill would be too painfull to deal with.... So I may buy a wrecked ones drive train.

I wonder how much my subie wil trade in for.

20,004 Miles. Synthetic oil changes ever 3k miles. Only work done on it at all was some body pannel being replaced because I dented it.

Well, this will give me a chance, or is that excuse, to take my current project to full off-road/race and give up needing to fret over registration constraints. Im down with a first shipment new age usdm and a first shipment STI usdm in the driveway; though the hold outs may have more to gain in that the refinement of the car and high HP trends ( the talk of the show this year includes 20 new production 500 HP vehicles by 2005 ) in the market will likely bring bigger and better things. Follow on model may see much more stock juice.

Given the unlikeliness of the STi making across the pond in wagon form, I guess I'll hang onto my 'power wagon'

The power (once I'm done with my mods) will keep me happy (more or less). I just wanna find some low-end torque.

On the up side, I'm assuming some of the STi buyers out there will be unhappy with the suspension settings. Thereby, making it MUCH cheaper/easier to find STi suspension stuff. This is the aspect of the STi coming that I'm most looking forward to.

With that said, I'm officially placing first dibs on anyone looking to unload their suspension bits (struts, springs, etc.)

I'm keeping my WRX for at least 2 more years. I want an STi badly but I still love my WRX. I hope after two model years maybe it will be easier to get into a STi.

As much as an F-body (Firebird/Camaro for those of you who don't know) killer sounds might juicy. I'm staying with my GD body style for now. Subaru doesn't have a habit of changing things this dramatically and since the "bug-eye" has been in production for a scant two years I like the idea of having it. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'll probably get another when I pay off this one! Especially if we get a turbo Legacy... more room for future family additions.

How much ya'll think a '02 WRX will be worth when this beast is unleashed on our shores?

Not that I'd ever think of trading up

Here we go again, Subaru split the demographics and I'm sure they wont cope with it any better than they did with the 2002MY WRX.

At 2 per dealership, you bet they arent gonna let them go for under 36k. That means there will only be 6 in my town.

I'll keep my WRX and keep tuning and see what the Evo8 has to offer.

but i'd love to have a factory STi. Prodrive please help us!

Thumbs up Don't get me wrong...

I absolutely love the new STi. A fricking Home Run by Subaru! I just don't need it. I've just got my WRX Wagon, and the STi may never be offered in Wagon - even if it is, I'm pretty happy with the wagon I have.
If I wanna go 0-60 in 4.5 or so, I've got a Vette already. And, for what the new STi will probably cost the first year (what with dealer gouging) you could probably get a really nice one-year old Vette. Maybe a two-year old Z06 for a few thou more.

Got to keep a sense of perspective about things.

but it IS a beautiful machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok...i was dumb...mine is obviously not a 2004 facelift...

but still...it's another tuned-up wrx...w/ a facelift..

i can't afford to keep up if subaru gives the wrx a facelift every 2 years...
